Job description

Eastman Kodak is looking for a Development Technician to join our Printed Electronics team onsite in Rochester NY, reporting to the VP of Printed Electronics.


The printed electronics manufacturing process utilizes production-scale, roll-to-roll equipment in class 1,000 and 10,000 cleanroom environments. The equipment is used for the development and manufacturing of patterned conductive films using two fundamental process blocks: 1) flexographic printing and 2) electroless copper plating. The scope of this position includes supporting R&D activities in the field of flexographic printing, which could ultimately be adopted in a manufacturing-scale process. The right candidate will be able to independently manage day-to-day work loads โ€“ including executing lab-scale printing and mixing experiments for ink formulation.


Responsibilities:

โ€ข Hands-on R&D scale flexographic printing

โ€ข Work directly with the scientific staff to scope, draft and execute experiments

โ€ข Optical, physical and electrical evaluation of printed and plated samples

โ€ข Work with the Product Development Director to drive technology from R&D to manufacturing


Preferred Skills:

โ€ข Experience executing bench-scale experiments, such as ink handling, dispersions and/or emulsion formulation understanding, hands-on capability in mixing, chemical handling, printing; coating; print/coating evaluation

โ€ข Experience with optical microscopy and visual inspection techniques

โ€ข Experience in DC electrical measurements, such as resistance testing

โ€ข Data entry and experimental record keeping

โ€ข Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

โ€ข Experience working on cross-functional teams

โ€ข Good laboratory practices


Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • A.S. Degree in Chemistry/related field OR equivalent experience in flexographic printing, ink formulation and chemistry laboratory best practices.
  • Would consider recent graduate with co-op/internship experience or candidate with industry experience.
