Job Description:
Senior Development Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer
A R&D team located in North Haven, CT is seeking a Senior Development Engineer / Electrical Engineer to perform hands-on electrical testing and development activities on a surgical robotic system.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or Biomedical Engineering with a focus on instrumentation) is required. Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
Prior medical device experience is required, as is demonstrated expertise in verification testing. Strong familiarity with IEC 60601 testing is essential to the role.
Essential functions:
- Performs engineering validation testing / electrical testing
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g. Jama / DOORS)
- Engineering report writing
- Quantitative data analysis
- Test method development / validation
- Strong familiarity with Excel and Minitab
- Use of multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron
- Prototyping skills a plus, as are rudimentary programming skills
- Prior medical device experience required
- Previous IEC 60601 testing experience is critical
Working conditions:
- Job is on site; based in North Haven, CT / 40-50 hours per week
- Reports to Principal engineer
- Standard office setting, surgical lab, operating room, pilot lab, external research organizations, supplier visits
- Travel may be required, but expected to be ?10%
