About Science and Technology Corporation (STC): STC is a science and engineering research and services support company with proven expertise and experience spanning research, development, test, and evaluation in areas including aerospace engineering, earth and atmospheric sciences, chemical and biological defense, military systems and technology, and software development. Employment Category: Full Time / Exempt Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Travel: None Security Clearance: DoD Secret or ability to earn Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen Responsibilities: The Research Engineer will conduct research related to the design, development, evaluation, and use of obscurant materials to support the DoD efforts to protect our warfighters and military vehicles from weapons/missiles with optical or electro-optical sensors

Research will be performed within a DoD laboratory and in the field. This Engineer will plan, direct, and conduct developmental testing related to vehicle mounted obscuration systems and countermeasures for protecting military vehicles from weapons/missiles with optical or electro-optical sensors. This Engineer will also help design, develop, and test new obscurant grenades and dissemination systems and the experimental modification of existing equipment.

Field work will be required. Prepare and conduct experiments, identify novel obscurant materials, and evaluate their effectiveness to block sections of the electromagnetic spectrum. Safely work with materials to identify chemical properties and toxicity, ability to be effectively disseminated into the air, and evaluate performance.

Use instrumentation in support of this experimentation and strong math and computer skills to assist in data analysis. Provide engineering support for the planning and conduct of developmental testing for military vehicles with mounted obscuration grenades or generators Write and contribute to presentations, technical reports, and publications Education: Bachelor's degree in or Engineering, materials science, physics, or related field.
