Position Summary

• Serve as the clinical leader and medical voice of the practice.
• Deliver high‑quality medicine and mentor trainee doctors.
• Balance hands‑on clinical practice with leadership responsibilities.
• Provide medical oversight of hospital operations and care delivery.
• Supervise associate and partner doctors.
• Set, model, and uphold medical quality standards.
• Foster a positive, collaborative hospital culture.
• Coach, mentor, and manage veterinarians to maintain clinical proficiency, client communication, and accurate medical records.
• Drive continuous improvement in medical quality, patient outcomes, and client trust through case review and clinical insights.
• Organize and lead regular doctor meetings for standard setting and case reviews.
• Partner with the Practice Manager to align on initiatives, scheduling, inventory, coaching, and strategic operations.
• Oversee maintenance and appropriate use of hospital equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Engage the local community, support outreach, and improve access to quality care.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, and onboard high‑quality veterinary talent.
• Maintain a robust patient caseload as a hands‑on clinician.
• Participate in events, calls, and ambassador duties as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support hospital and organizational goals.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
• Active licensure without restrictions in state of practice.
• Active DEA registration for responsible practice location(s).
• Any required state‑controlled substance, pharmacy, or other licenses and/or registrations.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience as a practicing veterinarian.
• Preferred minimum of 1 year experience leading a veterinary team or multi‑unit experience.
• Commitment to a minimum of 35 hours per week.
