Division InformationThe Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Owners of dogs, cats, birds, small animals, fish and reptiles rely on our brands for exceptional value and trusted results. Our industry-leading brands include Tetra®, Instant Ocean®, Marineland®, 8-in-1®, Dingo®, FURminator®, Nature's Miracle®, GloFish®, DreamBone® and SmartBones®.
Job Summary
The position of Aquarium Assembly will work with processed flat glass panels, plastic aquarium frames, and silicone to assemble aquariums used in the final pack out of all-in-one Aquarium Kits and Ensembles. Aquariums are the foundation for an enjoyable aquatic's environment, and range in size from 2.5 gallons up to 180 gallons.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate safe working practices in support of company safety procedures with focus on zero injuries.
  • Ability to assemble glass aquarium according to the instructions of the Trainer.
  • Understand quality requirements and ensure daily production meets or exceeds quality standards; take ownership for correcting issues identified during independent Product Quality Verification checks and Quality Line Audits.
  • Maintain clean work area through good housekeeping practices.
  • Record daily production metrics (material verification, quantity produced, and scrap).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Profile
  • High School graduate (equivalent GED)
  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience (Preferred)

Required Skills
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
    • Self-starter and the ability to work independently
    • Team assembly on larger aquariums
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to consistent attendance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
  • Safety. Your safety is most important. Proper training and PPE will be provided. All employees are encouraged to share safety tips. Some job tasks require walking or standing most of the time during the shift and may include bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling of material. You must be able to occasionally lift up-to 50 pounds, within team lift guidelines.
  • Surroundings. Fast paced manufacturing environment. You will be working around production equipment; moving powered industrial vehicles; and you will interact with other employees.
  • Team environment. It is important that you work well with others in a team-oriented atmosphere. Good interpersonal skills and demonstrating respect to others is highly valued.
