Job description

Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Security Assistant providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/C3M), Mission Planning Division.

The Mission Planning Division (AFLCMC/C3M) leads the development, modernization, and sustainment of enterprise Mission Planning Systems (MPS) supporting all U.S. Air Force aviation platforms. The Division delivers modular, integrated mission planning capabilities that connect operational tasking and intelligence data with aircraft avionics and aircrew mission requirements. By enabling aircrews to electronically receive and process tasking orders, intelligence inputs, target coordinates, and missioncritical flight and weapons data, MPS enhances combat effectiveness, increases sortie generation rates, and improves aircrew readiness and survivability across the Combat Air Forces (CAF) and Mobility Air Forces (MAF).

In parallel with sustaining current mission planning capabilities, the Division is developing the next-generation Joint Mission Planning System Open Mission System (JOMS), a cloudbased, microservice architecture designed to accelerate planning timelines, enhance collaboration, and deliver containerized services tailored to operational needs. Working closely with program managers, developers, industry partners, and the user community, the team is shaping the future of agile, modern mission planning. Major customers include Air Combat Command (ACC), Air Mobility Command (AMC), Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), and Air Education and Training Command (AETC).

This is a full time position located at Hill AFB, Ogden, UT.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Security Assistant to support Air Force security operations across multiple disciplines. The ideal candidate will perform administrative and operational security functions under the direction of the activity security manager and must hold the required clearance for all assigned duties.

The ideal candidate will support the AF Cognizant Security Authority (CSA) in national security objectives and provide daytoday support for collateral and, when directed, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities through active and integrated security operations.

You will provide multidisciplinary support across information security, personnel security, operations security, industrial security, communications security, acquisition security, physical security, general security, and antiterrorism/force protection. You will also support policy development, training, planning, and methods to protect information, personnel, facilities, operations, and material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, sabotage, theft, or loss.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Provide technical advice and support to collateral and SCI programs Maintain strong working relationships with IP leads, program managers, contracting officers, and other key partners Develop OPSEC plans, transition plans, emergency action plans, transportation plans, and other documents Review documentation for public release, ensuring accurate CUI markings and classification statements Provide classification guidance for collateral and SCI programs Advise on counterintelligence threats and trends Assist in developing SCGs, Program Protection Plans, SOPs, DD Form 254s, and other program documents Conduct classification reviews of inbound and outbound correspondence Prepare, process, ship, and receive classified mail Prepare classified packages, courier forms, and maintain receipt records Destroy classified materials and CUI Reproduce classified materials in paper and electronic formats Track and monitor clearances in DISS and ensure compliance Verify clearances and access; identify missing SF312/NDAs and notify IP lead Prepare, process, and review Visitor Access Requests and coordinate visit certifications Research, process, file, and maintain inbound/outbound VAR notices Enter foreign visits and contacts into DISS upon selfreport Assist with eQIP/SF86 initiation for military and civilian personnel Support fingerprinting for clearance actions Assist with inspection preparation and artifact creation in MICT or other platforms Conduct entry/exit inspections and random antiterrorism measures Support facility access control, visitor escorting, and badge issuance/tracking Perform data entry in security databases Enforce Government SOPs and Operating Instructions Serve as COMSEC Responsible Officer or Secure Voice Responsible Officer when needed Serve as alternate equipment custodian Support CAP/SWA operations, including access control, endofday checks, combination changes, secure space monitoring, VTC operations, alarm support, and classified meeting support Support security awareness and education programs, including creating materials and delivering briefings Perform administrative support as directed by site or IP leads

Minimum Required Qualifications

ClearanceMust have and be able to maintain a Secret level Clearance

  • Understanding of counterintelligence threats and trends
  • Familiar with security policy/manuals and the appropriate DoD and Air Force directives, manuals and instructions
  • Familiarity with DISS
  • Basic knowledge of the DD Form 254 and how it is incorporated in the Air Force acquisition process
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners
  • Demonstrated maturity and ability in handling sensitive information regarding acquisition programs, exercises, personal matters of a potential derogatory nature, or military activities with discretion and sound judgement
  • Able to accurately convey information both in written and verbal format

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related field

Years of experience: At least three years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD

  • Must be willing to adapt to contingency schedule if required by unit in unusual cases of emergency or critical mission support need
  • Must be able to identify classified documents/information, and know proper safeguarding
  • Must complete all required security training in accordance with DoD and Air Force regulations for those filling the role of security assistant.
  • Understanding of cloud-based classified systems and connections is preferred

Travel: Travel might be required at the discretion of the customer, but not expected to exceed 10%.
