POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marathon Detroit Michigan Refinery has positions available for Maintenance Journeyman Electrician. Candidates will be working in a heavy industrial setting with a high percentage of the work outside in all weather conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, confirming that equipment is electrically safe and secure, and provide documentation that lockout is complete, along with strict adherence to NFPA 70E and Marathon Electrical Safe Work Practices and Procedures.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, Motors, Variable Frequency Drives, Branch Circuits, Electric Heat Tracing, and Outdoor Lighting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must already possess and be able to maintain at least a Michigan Journeymen License.

  • Must be able to pass a Marathon Electrical written and hands-on skill demonstration test.

  • Three to five years relevant work experience is preferred.

  • Understand the requirements of NFPA 70E for the usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and electrical PPE needed to ensure personal safety and the safety of coworkers.

  • Understand National Electrical Code requirements for industrial and hazardous locations.

  • Experience in any of the following Industrial Facilities is not required, but preferred. Oil, Gas, Chemical, and Power Generation.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

  • $50.97/hour with scheduled annual increases per Collective Bargaining Agreement

  • Company sponsored annual bonus with target of 6% of eligible annual wages
