2025 Intern - Construction Materials Technician - Tukwila, Washington

Part-Time and Full-Time positions available

(Intertek-PSI) team in Tukwila, Washington. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn versatile skills in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

What are we looking for?

The 2026 Intern is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures. 

Salary & Benefits Information:

The base wage or salary range for this position is $18 p/h - $25 p/h. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:

  • Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
  • Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
  • Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
  • Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management Bachelor's program at an accredited University
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
  • Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
  • Ability to work over night hours and off shift
