Job description

Sr. Associate, Volunteerism Reporting & Data Enablement - Community Impact & Investment
Community Impact and Investment is in the midst of a multiyear transformation to increasingly align business strategy and social impact; launch new, different, and more holistic approaches to investing in our communities; use Capital One's volunteer time and talent in increasingly strategic ways; and use data, analytics, research, and inclusive design to inform more targeted and actionable consulting to our business partners on topics related to a broad view of financial inclusion.
We're seeking a Senior Associate to join our Associate Activation team. The Activation team is charged with fostering a culture of service and volunteerism across the enterprise by building, testing and deploying services to empower our "impact forward" associate base to engage with the community. This is a team of changemakers who seek to empower our associate base to give back by meeting our associates where they are, and delivering the programming and tools they need to easily mobilize their interests, talents and skills in the community.
In this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in three key areas:
Harness and Leverage Data to Inform Decision Making
  • You'll harness the volunteer data we have available to us through our internal databases, surveys, and regulatory reporting to inform our associate enablement strategy.
  • You'll partner with Data Analysts to leverage Tableau to consolidate and transform our data into intuitive and easy to use tools that will help us better understand the needs of our internal and external communities.
  • You'll use data to monitor and forecast volunteer engagement to track our progress against regulatory engagement targets.

Mobilizing our Associates with a Business Mindset
  • You will leverage a group of "Community Champions" to drive associate engagement by ensuring they're enabled with the data, resources, and best practices to amplify Capital One's culture of volunteerism.
  • You'll capture and report volunteerism metrics to monitor and inform associate engagement in the community, including which engagements are qualified to meet our regulatory requirements, and how our teams and LOBs are reaching volunteerism goals.

Build Repeatable Processes and Resources That Meet Customer Needs
  • You'll help iterate, improve, and scale our reporting models to cultivate efficient and effective processes to meet the support needs of associate volunteers and leaders across the enterprise.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and met through repeatable and sustainable processes.

Test, Learn, and Scale
  • You'll report KPIs for tools, programs and interaction models and will be responsible for measuring and tracking those metrics, with an eye to adjusting and refining your strategy as the data dictates.
  • You'll relentlessly seek perspectives from the field to identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and document your work to build the capacity of our team, our partners, and associate volunteers.

We want you if you are:
  • Impact-driven. You dream big. You desire to make the world a better place, and you get energy from working with others with similar passions to accomplish big, bold goals.
  • Wired for Collaboration and Connection. You thrive in a matrixed organization because you know that together we can do better. You're obsessed with building and cultivating relationships. You have a proven track record of building solutions co-delivered across teams
  • Customer Focused. You care about doing what's best for the community and for Capital one's associates. You don't shy away from hard conversations or nuanced decision making because you know the best outcomes often go hand in hand with tough decisions. For the sake of the associate experience, you are comfortable holding your partners and your own team accountable for results.
  • Process Oriented. You loathe inefficient processes and look for ways to streamline and document everything you touch. You enjoy creating new processes when it is needed.
  • Enablement is your middle name. You are passionate about building tools that enable others, because you get energized by seeing those around you enabled to do their best work.
  • Innovator at Heart: You're a natural problem solver who thrives on creative challenges, consistently seeking innovative solutions and thinking outside the box to drive impactful results.
  • Do-er. You're biased toward action, you try things and sometimes you fail. You can get around your own roadblocks and you remove obstacles for your team to stay focused on enterprise goals.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience working for a for-profit company
  • At least 1 year of experience in program management, project management, or a combination of the two
  • At least 1 year of experience of creating and maintaining Tableau workbooks

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in process management
  • Experience in volunteerism, talent engagement and morale experience
  • Community organizing, nonprofit, or political experience
  • 2+ years of creating & maintaining Tableau workbooks for shared use and/or certified in Tableau
  • 2+ years of experience working for a for-profit company
  • 2+ years of experience in program management, project management, or a combination of the two
