Position Summary
Position Summary:
A Writing Center Consultant coaches writers on their writingprocesses and their works in progress and develops a variety of strategies forsupporting writers. They continue learning about best practices intutoring writing via study of Writing Center scholarship. They work withfaculty, tutoring supervisors, and their fellow tutors. Other duties includebut are not limited to maintaining a welcoming Writing Center environment andfilling out report forms for tutoring appointments.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better andcompletion of at least English 1110, 1110Z or 1120 with a grade of B or higher or theequivalent (such as placement into English 1120).
Also valued, though not required, in applicants: successfulcompletion of English 1120 and/or Technical Writing, or experience with writingin any language that is not their original language, or interest or experiencein any kind of teaching, or facility with computer applications such as clouddocuments, spreadsheets, or Zoom, or other special experience or skillsthat could be useful in their tutoring of writing.
