Title: Salesforce Report Writer/Analyst

Department: Advancement Operations

Position Summary

The Salesforce Report Writer/Analyst partners with University of Rhode Island Foundation (URIF) staff to understand reporting and business intelligence needs and develop solutions that transform data into actionable insights.


Reporting to the Gift Management & Reporting Director, this position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that support fundraising success, operational effectiveness, and strategic decision-making across the Foundation. The Report Writer leverages Salesforce, Apsona, Power BI, and other reporting tools to deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful information that advances the Foundation's mission.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Foundation stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze reporting and dashboard requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Salesforce (Kindsight/Affinaquest), Apsona, Power BI, and related tools.
  • Translate complex business requirements and data into clear, actionable reporting solutions.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data presented in reports and dashboards.
  • Develop reporting solutions that effectively address Foundation management questions and business needs.
  • Provide user support, training, and guidance related to report access, interpretation, and self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate data delivery, and enhance business intelligence capabilities.
  • Assist in establishing reporting standards, documentation, and best practices.
  • Partner with Advancement Operations staff to support ongoing data governance and reporting initiatives.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, or related fields.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards within Salesforce.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Salesforce Analytics.
  • Proficiency with Apsona for Salesforce preferred.
  • Experience with DAX, SOQL, JavaScript, SQL, or similar reporting and data analysis tools preferred.
  • Salesforce Trailhead learning and/or Salesforce certifications preferred.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

Salary Range

$75,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
