Position Summary

Scenic Stays is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to help preserve the condition, safety, and functionality of our vacation rental properties. This role is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks, including repairs, troubleshooting, installations, landscaping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and general property upkeep.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high safety standards. Success in this role requires professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to ensuring our properties remain in excellent condition for guests and homeowners.

We pay 100% of employee-only Medical and Dental coverage.

What You'll Do
  • Perform in-room maintenance and repairs, including troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, fixture installation, and damage repairs.

  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Maintain electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs, outlets, and repairing circuit breaker panels.

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, refrigeration, and related systems.

  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality.

  • Inspect fire and safety alarm systems and coordinate repairs as needed.

  • Perform manual repairs, including lock replacements, window repairs, and other general maintenance tasks.

  • Complete general property upkeep, including landscaping, drywall repair, painting, and carpentry work.

  • Perform plumbing repairs, including toilet rebuilds, shower valve replacements, and sink valve repairs.

  • Maintain clean, trash-free properties, including emptying dumpsters, trash cans, and replacing trash bags.

  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete assigned projects in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar maintenance role.

  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures, techniques, and best practices.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to professionally interact with guests, homeowners, vendors, and coworkers.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.

  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification.

  • Experience working in hospitality, vacation rentals, resorts, hotels, or property management environments.
