What does a replacement rental representative do?

A Replacement Rental Representative assists customers in obtaining temporary rental vehicles when their own cars are being repaired due to accidents or insurance claims. They coordinate with insurance companies, repair shops, and customers to ensure a smooth and efficient rental process. Their responsibilities include verifying coverage, selecting suitable rental vehicles, processing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple cases at once.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a replacement rental representative, and why are they important?

To succeed as a Replacement Rental Representative, you need strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with rental management software, reservation systems, and basic office applications is typically required. PIRTEK, the nation’s leading provider for on-site hydraulic and industrial hose replacement is hiring for the position of Territory Growth Representative.
Job Description:

PIRTEK is currently seeking an ambitious and motivated salesperson to help grow our business.
You are not selling hose. You are selling uptime.

Every factory, fleet, farm, and job site in central Ohio runs on hydraulics. When a hose blows — and they blow — everything stops. Lost hours, lost money, an operator standing around waiting.
The customer does not need a brochure. They need somebody they trust to answer at two in the morning. That is what you are selling, and it is an easy thing to believe in.
What it pays

$50,000 base salary, plus commission:
  • 5% of revenue on every new account you land, for a full year
  •  2.5% for as long as you keep it

The commission is uncapped. A rep who builds a real book should be at $75,000 to $85,000 in year two, and the residual keeps paying as long as the account does. You also get mileage reimbursement for territory travel, a company phone, and paid training.
You are not starting cold, either — PIRTEK's national accounts give you warm relationships from day one.

What you will do

  • Prospect daily — cold calls, walk-ins, referrals. Central Ohio is full of businesses that have never heard of PIRTEK. You change that.
  • Grow the accounts you land. Find the next need before something breaks.
  • Get out of the truck. Job sites, maintenance shops, plants, rental yards, fleet garages — this is not a desk job.
  • Follow up after service calls to make sure we delivered, and ask for the review
  • Keep your pipeline documented and current
  • Represent PIRTEK at trade shows and local events
  • Work with the technicians. They are the ones who make you look good.
What we are looking for

  • A track record of hitting sales targets — B2B or outside sales is a plus
  • Comfortable with cold outreach and handling objections without taking it personally
  • A self-starter who can run a territory without hand-holding
  • Organized enough to keep the pipeline honest
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED
No hydraulic experience required — we train the technical side. What we cannot teach is drive. That part is on you.

What else you get

  • Monday through Friday. No weekends, no on-call, home every night.
  • PIRTEK certified sales and product training — paid, with travel covered
  • Paid time off — one week your first year, two weeks after that — plus six paid holidays
  • Health benefit: we put $400 a month, tax-free, toward the health plan you pick — worth more than $400 of wages, because it never gets taxed. You own the plan, so you keep it if you ever leave here. We help you enroll.
  • Dental and vision — employer-paid group coverage
  • A ground-floor seat. We are opening this fall, and the territory is yours to build.
About us

PIRTEK is the national leader in on-site hydraulic and industrial hose replacement — the 24/7 emergency crew that gets broken equipment running again, fast, with a one-hour response target.
PIRTEK Marion is locally owned and operated, opening our Delaware service center this fall. You would work directly with the owner. The relationships you build and the reputation you create in this territory will be yours.
Want to own a territory from day one? Apply today and help put PIRTEK on the map in central Ohio.
