Job description

Job Title: Packaging Operator
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Location: Ringwood, IL 60072
Shift: Candidates must be able to work any of the following shifts: Second Shift: 2:40pm - 11:00pm
Pay Rate: $25/hr.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Other: Valid Driver's License Required.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Follow procedures to safely package chemical products into totes, drums and pails
  • Repack and relabel chemical products
  • Utilize automated control systems along with manual operations to operate process and packaging equipment
  • Identify, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues
  • Perform light maintenance or prepare equipment for others to safely perform maintenance
  • Complete batch related documentation and declare production in SAP
  • Perform daily housekeeping tasks, rounds, and maintain an organized work environment
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Commitment to safe and environmentally responsible operation of all aspects of a chemical process

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in a chemical production environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with flammable and other hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to complete basic math calculations
  • Must be able to operate hand tools, such as pliers, screwdrivers, and scrapers.
  • Experience with forklift operation
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position including climbing stairs, ladders, lift 55 pounds, connect hoses, operate manual valves, wear FRC uniforms and full-face respirator (clean-shaven)
