Key responsibilities

  • Perform CAT inspections on returned rental equipment and document all damages with pictures, reporting findings to the Rental Coordinator.

  • Make minor repairs and maintenance on equipment, including replacing filters, battery, body panels, lights, mirrors, decals, greasing units, swapping attachments, and testing functionality.

  • Prepare equipment for re-rental by cleaning, adding rental codes, replacing or installing decals, painting ID numbers, and washing equipment when necessary.

Rental Inspector (Light Construction Equipment)              

South Florida Caterpillar Dealer seeking a Rental Inspector with the following responsibilities: Perform CAT inspect on every piece of equipment returned from rent, document all damages on Cat inspect along with pictures and report to Rental Coordinator, report damaged attachment to avoid costly repairs, Make Minor repairs, air filters, fuel filters, battery, body panels, lights, mirrors, decals, grease units, attachment swap and test, get units that don’t need major repairs ready to go back on rent in a timely manner, add rental code to unit,  always maintain work area clean, prep mew rental units, replace damaged rental decals & CAT safety decals, paint ID# and install decals, wash the equipment when Wash Rack Attendee is not available.


Other responsibilities may be considered based upon customer needs. Some heavy lifting. Safety glasses and proper PPE must be worn.


A valid driver’s license is needed. Minimum of 8-hour shifts. Communication skills. Fork -Lift certification. Must have tools. Mechanical experience. This position requires physical activity, which may include moderate lifting, steps climbing, and equipment operation.
