Job description

Position Purpose

Under the direction of Information Technology Department Leadership, this position designs and develops custom software solutions, integrations and automated workflows for use across areas of Renown Health.

The incumbent will be familiar with development code and tools, including Microsoft Visual Studio, VS Code, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Management Studio, .NET, .NET Core, C#, GraphQL, Git, Azure DevOps, Vue.js, T-SQL, XML, JSON, LINQ, Microsoft Power Platform, and others to deliver custom solutions, up to and including full stack applications for use by Renown and Hometown Health employees, partners, customers, patients and members. Incumbent may also be responsible for systems integration using web services, APIs, automation tools or other methods

This position works with other members of the Information Technology teams and works with the user community to develop solutions that meet overall functional needs relating to business processes in need of automation, workflows, or data access and controls. This position provides full life cycle support and enhancements to ensure maximum benefit of these custom solutions. The incumbent has responsibility to deliver and support custom development solutions, systems and processes, the underlying databases, workflows and server resources.

Nature and Scope

The position requires meeting with IT Business Systems Analysts and may work directly with customers to determine needs while building custom solutions per business requirements. This position will be responsible for development of applications, upkeep of system interfaces, resolution of product defects, system implementations and ongoing maintenance, documentation and training of the custom developed solutions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1. Exceptional Skills in all aspects of Full Stack Software Development

2. Strong knowledge of JavaScript frameworks, such as Vue.js, React.js and Angular.js

3. Strong knowledge of web services, APIs, mini-services and micro-services

4. Strong skills to query data in transactional SQL, LINQ and GraphQL

5. Understanding of development architectural patterns such as MVC and MVVM.

6. Moderate knowledge of DevOps, with experience deploying and managing applications throughout DevOps processes

7. Ability to enforce and adhere to development standards and perform code reviews

8. Ability to adhere to change management procedures

9. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application defects

10. Managing multiple tasks and switching rapidly without losing efficiency or focus

11. Strong user interface and navigation design instincts

12. Communicating effectively with users and vendors

13. Capable of delivering on multiple, competing priorities with little supervision

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations, Management, or other related field is required. Experience may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis.

Experience:

Six years’ experience with full stack software development required. Development experience may include but is not limited to C#, .NET, .NET Core, Java, JavaScript, VB/VBA/VB Script, Visual Studio, SQL, and Microsoft development and automation tools.. Knowledge of FTP (moving, organizing, and copying of files), web-based applications, internet security, and software installation on a broad range of platforms preferred. Data management experience may include but is not limited to tSQL, DB2, GraphQL, LINQ. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in health care systems.
