Job description

Hello, we’re Instrumentl. \uD83D\uDC4B

Nonprofits do some of the most important work in the world, and most of them are still managing grants in spreadsheets. We’re fixing that.
Instrumentl is a profitable, hypergrowth, YC-backed SaaS platform building the operating system for grant-funded organizations. More than 5,500 nonprofits use Instrumentl to discover, track, and win grant funding, from local community organizations to the San Diego Zoo and the University of Alaska. Collectively they’ve moved over $1 billion through our platform.
We’re doubling year over year, customers love us (NPS 65+, Ellis PMF 60+), and we’re hiring people who want to build something that matters.

About the role:
We’re hiring a Growth Account Executive, reporting to our AE Senior Manager, to deliver 1:1 concierge onboarding and consultative sales experiences for prospective customers. You’ll be speaking to busy Executive Directors, Development Directors, Grants Managers, and professional grant-writing consultants. We’ll expect you to convey warmth, kindness, and competence in your approach. These folks are out there raising money to achieve their missions, and you’ll help them leverage Instrumentl to get there faster.
What you'll get to do:

Pipeline & Closing

  • Become an expert on grants and institutional fundraising so you can have genuinely useful conversations with prospects
  • Outbound into your book of business using creative, personalized tactics to generate pipeline
  • Run high-velocity sales cycles with warmth and precision, from first contact through close
  • Follow up with prospects quickly and be highly responsive to their questions
  • Experiment with new onboarding flows and sales pitches to accelerate growth

Customer Experience & Feedback

  • Deliver concierge-level onboarding experiences that upgrade customers’ institutional fundraising workflows and help them love the Instrumentl brand
  • Provide product and design input on the first-time user experience
  • Surface insights from customer conversations to improve positioning and pitch
What we're looking for:

Required

  • 0-2 years of closing experience in a high-velocity, customer-facing SaaS role (or similar environment)
  • Empathy: driven to solve the actual, underlying problem for customers, especially problems that go unsaid
  • Curiosity: you make an effort to understand the true nature of the problem your customers want to address so you can provide the best possible solution
  • Grit: you understand that mastery of any role requires hard work and coaching, and enjoy that challenge and journey
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Drive: you want to take control of your own success and build on the processes already in place
  • Comfortable with tools like G Suite, Zoom, Slack, and CRM platforms

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling into the nonprofit market
  • Background in fundraising or nonprofit operations
  • Startup or remote work experience
Compensation & benefits:

Benefits

  • 100% covered health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (50% for dependents)
  • Generous PTO, including parental leave
  • 401(k)
  • Company laptop and home-office stipend
  • Bi-annual company retreats
