Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial screenings and thorough interviews to establish each client's case, documenting all relevant information from the start to the completion of treatment.
• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health using standardized assessment tools, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of their needs.
• Design and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans catered to individuals, couples, families, and groups, fostering a tailored approach to treatment.
• Lead engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, adapting methods to suit diverse client backgrounds and needs.
• Regularly monitor and assess client progress against treatment goals, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate actively with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, doctors, social workers, and nurses, to develop cohesive intervention strategies.
• Maintain communication with healthcare facilities for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring comprehensive continuity of care.
• Identify and address potential barriers to recovery, facilitating clients’ pathways to achieving their mental health goals.
• Support family members and primary caregivers by equipping them with strategies to manage behavioral and mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients range from various backgrounds, seeking help for issues related to mental health disorders and addictions. You will have the opportunity to work with individuals seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders, providing them with the tools and skills necessary to navigate their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Current valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
• Completion of the necessary examinations, including a passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective client interactions and documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor or therapist, particularly within outpatient services.
• Experience with electronic health record systems, particularly familiarity with software such as AVATAR.
• A robust understanding of co-occurring disorders and the nuances around assessing and treating clients dealing with both mental health issues and addiction.
• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
• Insight into the pharmacological treatments prescribed by medical professionals and their implications for mental health care.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive annual salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience, alongside a sign-on bonus for successful candidates.
