Remote Wrapping Paper Designer information

What is a remote wrapping paper designer?

Remote Wrapping Paper Designers are creative professionals who design decorative paper used for gift wrapping, working from a location outside of a traditional office, often from home. They use digital design tools to create patterns, illustrations, and motifs that appeal to various markets and occasions. Their work involves collaborating with clients or companies online, understanding current design trends, and delivering print-ready files. This role combines artistic skill, knowledge of color theory, and proficiency in design software, all managed remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote wrapping paper designer?

To thrive as a Remote Wrapping Paper Designer, you need strong graphic design skills, creativity, and a portfolio showcasing surface pattern or illustration work, often supported by a relevant degree or experience. Mastery of design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and digital collaboration tools is typically required. Attention to detail, self-motivation, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for excelling in a remote and creative environment. These abilities ensure the creation of marketable, visually appealing products while meeting deadlines and collaborating effectively with clients or teams from a distance.

How do remote wrapping paper designers typically collaborate with printers and product teams to ensure their designs are production-ready?

Remote Wrapping Paper Designers often work closely with printing vendors and product development teams through digital communication platforms. They regularly share mockups, color proofs, and pattern files, receiving feedback to ensure designs meet technical specifications such as bleed, resolution, and color accuracy for printing. Frequent video calls and shared project management tools help streamline revisions and approvals, making effective communication and attention to detail essential for successful collaboration in this remote setup.

Job description

About Runlayer
AI is transforming how every company operates, but most enterprises are stuck. They want to move fast with AI Agents, tools, and workflows, but they can't do it safely. We're fixing that.
Our team built AI Actions for OpenAI, shipped Zapier Agents to millions of users, and launched the first remote MCP server with Anthropic. We helped establish the protocol, and now we're building the platform enterprises need to actually put AI to work.
Runlayer is one platform for MCPs, Skills, and Agents: purpose-built security, fine-grained governance, and complete observability so organizations can go all-in on AI across the entire company without the risk. We just raised a $30M Series A led by Felicis, with participation from Khosla Ventures, bringing our total raised to $42M. Already trusted by Gusto, Instacart, Opendoor, dbt Labs, and Decagon.
About the Role
This role is Runlayer's first brand designer and will partner closely with marketing and product design to help define how Runlayer shows up across all our web and in-person surfaces. This role is for a designer who is comfortable owning decisions, setting a high bar, and building a brand with intention while keeping the pace that a startup demands.
You'll be responsible for defining, shaping, and launching the Runlayer brand as a system. You'll be collaborating with the design and marketing teams while delivering impact across the entire company. This role reports to the VP of Marketing.
What You'll Do
  • Lead brand execution for Runlayer across marketing, web, events, sales, balancing foundational system work with high-visibility brand moments.
  • Design sales enablement materials like decks, one-pagers, and templates.
  • Design marketing materials like OG cards, webpages, social posts, trade show booth design, and swag.
  • Build generative AI brand tools, templates and standards that increase the speed and quality of brand work across the company.
  • Partner closely with product design to create a cohesive relationship between brand and product, and helping to raise the craft bar across both.

What We're Looking For
  • Someone with a strong creative POV and a track record of defining or meaningfully evolving a brand.
  • Someone comfortable operating as a team of one in design, while being closely embedded in a collaborative marketing team.
  • Someone who brings strong opinions loosely held, is open to feedback, and who has the judgment to know when to move fast and when to sweat the details.
  • Someone who enjoys working across web, campaigns, print, events, decks, and motion, and want your work to show up everywhere.
  • Interest in building custom AI tooling to scale brand work.
  • Proficiency in a range of design and presentation tools, from Figma and Paper to Google Slides.
  • Comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration and written communication skills.
  • The ability to translate a complex technical infrastructure product into clear, compelling visual stories that resonate far beyond a technical audience.

What We Offer
We provide a competitive package designed to attract and retain top talent who can work effectively with enterprise customers.
  • Competitive salary and equity - compensation that reflects your expertise and customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Paid time off - paid vacation, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave.
  • Professional development - budget for conferences, courses, and certifications in AI, enterprise software, and customer success.
  • Top-tier equipment - your choice of laptop and accessories to create your ideal work environment.
  • Health benefits - comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Customer interaction opportunities - work directly with innovative companies and see the immediate impact of your work.
