As a remote worker integrated within a school environment, you will collaborate with educational staff and mental health professionals to create a supportive network for students. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical assessments and diagnoses of mental health disorders for students; develop tailored treatment plans that resonate with individual needs.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) in individual and group settings.
  • Establish and nurture trusting relationships with students, staff, and families to facilitate effective communication and treatment adherence.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including teachers, psychologists, and special education staff, to ensure holistic care for students.
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress, adhering to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Participate actively in crisis intervention efforts, offering immediate support during critical situations while developing long-term safety plans.
  • Offer training and workshops to staff on mental health awareness, stigma reduction, and best practices for supporting students with emotional disturbances.
  • Monitor client progress through regular check-ins, modifying treatment plans as necessary based on individual responses and feedback.
  • Engage with families to provide education on mental health resources and strategies for maintaining student wellness at home.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your role will be working with students who experience major mental illness and severe emotional disorders. This position places a strong emphasis on understanding the unique cultural and socio-economic factors that influence the mental health of students in a school setting. You will be instrumental in advocating for student needs and connecting them to additional services when necessary.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid LCSW license in the state of Georgia.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct, clinical experience in mental health, preferably within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of applicable mental health policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Demonstrable ability to engage with diverse populations, respecting various cultural perspectives.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to USD 85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
