Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Project Architect / Senior Technical Manager to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight across architectural projects. This role is responsible for driving high-quality documentation, resolving complex technical and code issues, and supporting project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who brings deep technical expertise, sound judgment, and a passion for developing teams. For candidates holding the Senior Project Architect title, a current California architectural license is required.

This position will be working out of our Ontario, California office. This position is eligible for hybrid (office/remote) working arrangement and flexible working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for architectural projects across all phases
  • Supervise and mentor project teams, supporting professional growth and technical development
  • Resolve complex constructability, code, and agency approval issues
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers on staffing, schedules, budgets, and work plans
  • Manage and coordinate consultants, agencies, and project stakeholders
  • Serve as a technical resource for the studio, establishing best practices and leading lessons-learned efforts
  • Review documents for quality, coordination, code compliance, and contractual alignment
  • Support or lead construction administration activities, including OAC meetings as needed
  • Assist with proposals, interviews, and marketing efforts
  • Ensure projects meet client expectations, contractual requirements, schedules, and budgets

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Licensed Architect in California (required for Senior Project Architect designation)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with demonstrated technical proficiency across all phases of architectural practice
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, systems, materials, and construction documentation
  • Proven experience mentoring staff and leading technical teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities, make sound decisions, and work collaboratively
  • Understanding of contractual obligations, scopes of work, and fee structures
  • Willingness to travel as needed

This position is non-exempt. The salary range for this position is $105,682 - $158,086 annually.

The actual offered salary for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidateโ€™s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
