Remote Workflow Management information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote workflow management, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote Workflow Management, you need strong organizational skills, experience in project coordination, and typically a background in business administration or a related field. Familiarity with workflow automation tools like Asana, Trello, or Monday.com, and proficiency in collaboration platforms such as Slack or Microsoft Teams, are commonly required. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities help professionals stand out in this role. These skills are crucial for maintaining productivity, ensuring seamless team collaboration, and effectively managing projects in a remote environment.

What are some common challenges faced in remote workflow management and how can they be addressed?

A common challenge in remote workflow management is maintaining clear communication and visibility across distributed teams. Without in-person interactions, it can be easy for tasks to fall through the cracks or for team members to feel disconnected. To address this, it's important to implement robust project management tools, establish regular check-ins, and set clear expectations for deliverables and deadlines. Fostering a culture of transparency and encouraging proactive updates also help ensure that workflows stay on track and everyone remains aligned.

Job description

DataBank Holdings Ltd. is a leading provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud, and interconnection services, offering customers 100% uptime availability of data, applications, and infrastructure. DataBank's managed data center services are anchored in world-class facilities. Our customized technology solutions are designed to help customers effectively manage risk, improve their technology performance, and allow them to focus on their core business objectives. DataBank is headquartered in the historic former Federal Reserve Bank Building, in downtown Dallas, TX.
DataBank is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. Our work culture at DataBank does not discriminate based on actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, sex, marital status, veterans' status, gender, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
Role Overview
DataBank is implementing DealHub as its enterprise CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) platform and we are looking for a Senior CPQ Manager to own it fully and permanently. This is a platform-ownership role, not a project. The ideal candidate has managed a live CPQ for years: absorbing new products, handling Finance and Sales escalations, managing the enhancement backlog, and keeping the platform healthy as the business evolves. Data center or infrastructure experience is a meaningful differentiator.
You will configure DataBank's CPQ within DealHub, building product catalogs, pricing rules, approval workflows, and quote templates based on designs already completed by the project team. You own the platform from implementation through go-live and beyond.
This is a fully remote role reporting to the Senior Director of PMO and sitting within the Technology organization.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Implementation
โ€ข Build out DataBank's product catalog, pricing rules, approval workflows, and quote templates within DealHub, driving CPQ configuration from current state through go-live. You are the primary owner of the CPQ configuration and are accountable for its accuracy and readiness at go-live.
โ€ข Own the DealHub platform post-launch: manage the product roadmap, drive continuous improvement, and serve as the primary system administrator and subject matter expert.
โ€ข Configure product catalogs, bundles, and option constraints; implement complex pricing logic including location-based rules, volume tiers, configuration-dependent pricing, discount schedules, and approval workflows.
โ€ข Design guided selling playbooks that help Sales build accurate, compliant quotes; manage the post-launch enhancement backlog by triaging requests, prioritizing against business impact, and communicating decisions to stakeholders.
โ€ข Own catalog governance: maintain naming conventions, taxonomy standards, and product retirement processes as DataBank's service portfolio evolves.
โ€ข Serve as DataBank's primary DealHub contact: track bugs through resolution, manage feature requests, evaluate Professional Services deliverables through structured UAT, and escalate vendor issues when needed.
โ€ข Own the evaluation and rollout of new DealHub capabilities, including updates to product catalog structure, pricing rules, and workflows; lead training to drive adoption.
โ€ข Own all CPQ documentation: technical configuration specs and end-user guides comprehensive enough that a successor could inherit the platform without relying on tribal knowledge.
โ€ข Define and monitor CPQ platform health metrics; build and maintain reporting that gives stakeholders clear, ongoing visibility into system performance, data quality, and quote activity.
Integrations & Technical Architecture
โ€ข Develop working knowledge of the integration architecture between DealHub and DataBank's CRM, billing, and ERP systems; partner with the integration owner to diagnose issues at the integration layer.
โ€ข Ensure data integrity and workflow continuity across the full Quote-to-Cash (QTC) cycle, from opportunity creation through order fulfillment and revenue recognition.
โ€ข Develop and maintain reporting and analytics on CPQ performance, pipeline velocity, and pricing effectiveness using Sigma Computing.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
โ€ข Serve as the bridge between Sales, Sales Operations, Sales Engineering, Billing, Finance, Product, and Service Delivery translating business needs into CPQ solutions.
โ€ข Proactively identify inefficiencies in the quote-to-cash process and drive optimization initiatives without waiting to be directed.
โ€ข Lead user training, produce documentation, support change management, and participate in cross-functional product packaging discussions.
โ€ข Know when to say no to a senior stakeholder and be able to articulate why a requested change would compromise platform governance, data integrity, or downstream billing accuracy.
Leadership & Standards
โ€ข Stay current with DealHub releases and CPQ industry trends; proactively recommend adoption of new capabilities that create business value.
โ€ข Mentor internal team members on CPQ concepts, configuration best practices, and platform capabilities as DataBank's CPQ practice matures.
โ€ข Operate with a bias for action, extreme ownership, and clear communication; escalating issues early and resolving them decisively.
Required Qualifications
CPQ Experience
โ€ข 5+ years of hands-on CPQ experience across implementation, configuration, and ongoing platform management.
โ€ข At least 12 months of post-go-live CPQ ownership where you managed the enhancement backlog, handled pricing changes mid-quarter, resolved production incidents, and supported a live Sales team. This is the single most important qualification.
โ€ข Proven expertise configuring product catalogs, bundles, option constraints, and guided selling flows within any major CPQ platform. Platform depth matters more than platform name; DealHub experience is a plus, not a requirement.
Strong experience with Salesforce CPQ or Salesforce Revenue Cloud will be considered as an alternative to direct DealHub experience.
โ€ข Deep experience implementing complex pricing models: location-based rules, volume tiers, configuration-dependent pricing, discount matrices, and approval workflows.
โ€ข Strong command of the full Quote-to-Cash (QTC) process from opportunity through order fulfillment, billing, and revenue recognition.
Technical Skills
โ€ข Working knowledge of SQL and REST APIs in the context of CPQ configuration and integration.
โ€ข Ability to read the integration architecture between DealHub and downstream systems (CRM, billing, ERP) well enough to diagnose whether an issue originates in CPQ config or the integration layer. MuleSoft and/or Celigo familiarity is a strong plus.
โ€ข Comfortable working alongside Salesforce admins and developers on CRM-to-CPQ integration patterns; deep Salesforce development experience is not required.
โ€ข Experience with enterprise analytics and reporting tools; Sigma Computing experience a plus.
Business & Functional Skills
โ€ข Ability to gather, analyze, and translate complex business requirements into CPQ solution designs without being hand-held.
โ€ข Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Comfortable presenting to Sales leadership and working-level operations teams on the same day.
โ€ข Excellent documentation skills: technical specifications, solution designs, user guides, and training materials.
โ€ข Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel.
โ€ข Comfortably operating with ambiguity and making sound decisions with incomplete information.
Education
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข DealHub hands-on experience is a plus; it will not compensate for limited post-go-live ownership depth.
โ€ข Experience in the data center, colocation, telecommunications, or managed infrastructure industry; understanding how complex infrastructure services are packaged, priced, and sold.
โ€ข DealHub, Salesforce CPQ, or related CPQ platform certification.
โ€ข Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to accelerate SDLC activities (e.g., requirements analysis, documentation, testing).
โ€ข Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
โ€ข Prior experience in a techno-functional or solutions architect role that required bridging development, configuration, and business stakeholders
