• Conduct thorough initial assessments through preliminary interviews, ensuring accurate documentation of each client’s cases from their first consultation through to their final treatment session.
• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, utilizing various assessment tools and techniques to inform individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement appropriate intervention and recovery strategies, catering to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering emotional growth and resilience.
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment, making necessary adjustments to the therapeutic approach based on ongoing evaluations.
• Work closely with a diverse team of mental health specialists, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to ensure well-rounded intervention plans that address multifaceted needs.
• Maintain follow-up communications with attending physicians and psychiatrists regarding clients admitted to hospitals for acute care.
• Identify and proactively address behaviors that could hinder recovery, providing clients with practical strategies to overcome these challenges.
• Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the mental and emotional challenges faced by their loved ones.

Your work with Sensational Sunshine Behavioral Health will focus on a diverse client base, including individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. By providing tailored care and support, you will help empower clients to gain insights into their mental health and promote resilience, ultimately driving improved wellness outcomes.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating a strong foundation in clinical practice.
• Ability to proficiently use electronic health record systems, ideally with experience in AVATAR.

• Experience working with clients facing various physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth knowledge of medications prescribed by medical specialists and their impact on mental health.
• Exceptional aptitude in written and verbal communication, coupled with outstanding interpersonal skills.

This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience.
