• Conduct comprehensive assessments and psychological screenings to identify the mental health needs of patients and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Provide short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention to address various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
• Facilitate therapy groups and interactive workshops focused on personal development, coping strategies, and mental health education.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
• Participate in community outreach programs and mental health awareness initiatives aimed at promoting overall well-being and accessibility to mental health resources.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records of patient progress, treatment plans, and therapy session notes in accordance with regulatory standards.

You will primarily work with adults and adolescents facing a variety of mental health challenges. Our patient population includes individuals seeking support through transitions, those experiencing emotional distress, as well as clients navigating chronic conditions. The diversity of our patients requires a counselor prepared to address a wide range of mental health issues with sensitivity and professionalism.

• Active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health challenges prevalent in urban populations, particularly those related to hospital settings.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with patients and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and short-term therapy modalities suitable for outpatient settings.
• Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Previous experience working in a hospital or outpatient center is highly desirable.
• Experience in crisis intervention and the use of telehealth platforms is a significant advantage.
• Keen insight into the mental health needs specific to the Bakersfield community.
