How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Prepare precise cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor proposals on residential and commercial builds.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and identify potential project risks or cost variances prior to bid submissions.
  • Request, evaluate, and compare subcontractor quotes to ensure comprehensive coverage and competitive pricing.
  • Establish standard estimating procedures, templates, and systems to streamline internal workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Communicate continuously with project owners, clients, architects, and subcontractors to clarify project scopes and specifications.
  • Monitor bid schedules and track project deadlines to ensure all proposals are completed accurately and submitted on time.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating or related project cost management roles.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Solid hands-on experience using industry-standard estimating, takeoff, and project management software (ex: Buildertrend)
  • Demonstrated mathematical skills and analytical problem-solving capabilities within general construction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills needed for effective client and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Excel 


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction estimating or related project cost management roles.
  • Associate degree in Construction Management, Building Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience developing estimating systems, processes, and cost databases from the ground up in a startup environment.
  • Deep knowledge of localized material costs, subcontractor networks, and labor markets across the greater Sacramento region.
  • Previous project management experience—or an interest in developing and taking on project management responsibilities—is a plus.
