Job description

Position Summary

The Inside Broker is responsible for assisting the Broker in developing, managing, and sustaining profitable business by providing high level technical expertise. The role is responsible for managing a broker's book of business in-house using deep knowledge of initial risk assessments to secure the best coverage and place it smoothly in the right market. They provide customer service, resolve client inquiries through efficient communication, and process routine and complex transactions accurately.
Locations: We are currently hiring Inside Broker roles throughout the U.S. Most roles will be hybrid out of their respective offices. However, some remote opportunities may be available based upon experience.

What will your job entail?

  • Market, quote, negotiate, and bind new and renewal commercial casualty business directed to the internal brokerage team

  • Analyze submissions to identify appropriate markets, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions

  • Negotiate complex renewals and new placements with top insurance carriers and wholesale markets

  • Evaluate quotes and contract provisions; present pricing, coverage, and terms clearly and confidently

  • Order, review, and assess additional risk information as needed to support underwriting decisions

  • Take policies through completion, including recommendations, binding, invoicing, and policy issuance

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and existing carrier partners

  • Build new carrier relationships to expand market access and placement options

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance within agency management systems and documentation

  • Review policies for accuracy and resolve discrepancies

  • Prepare submissions, reports, cover letters, and related documentation

  • Stay current on industry trends, market shifts, and commercial property best practices

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and team knowledgesharing

Required Qualifications:

  • Active State Property & Casualty license and/or Surplus Lines license

  • 3+ years of wholesale insurance brokerage experience, with the ability to execute immediately

  • Strong background in Commercial Casualty placements

  • Experience handling highvolume, fastpaced brokerage workflows for large, complex commercial casualty accounts

  • Proven negotiation skills with insurance carriers and wholesale markets

  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while remaining highly responsive

  • Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Sales, or related field

  • Industry designations such as CIC, CISR, AAI, or progress toward CPCU

  • Established carrier relationships within the commercial property & casualty marketplace

The target salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands.
