This full-time remote position focuses on providing valuable mental health support to individuals dealing with obesity and binge eating behaviors. You will play a vital role in enhancing the mental well-being of our patients and contributing to their overall treatment objectives.

Work Environment

This remote position offers you the flexibility to provide direct counseling while balancing your personal commitments. Committed to work-life balance, our team collaborates seamlessly online, enhancing the support provided to our patients. You will work a 36-hour week, primarily from Monday to Friday, without the demands of on-call hours, fostering an environment conducive to both professional and personal fulfillment.

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments focusing on weight-related issues, including obesity and binge eating, to establish comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Guide therapy direction through standardized tests and evaluations to ensure tailored patient care.
  • Provide individual counseling sessions that address emotional and psychological aspects of weight management, emphasizing coping strategies and behavioral change.
  • Design personalized treatment programs based on patient needs, goals, and preferences, ensuring a patient-centered approach.
  • Educate patients on the psychological aspects of weight control, fostering self-awareness and motivation for change.
  • Collaborate with a team of medical professionals to ensure holistic treatment for each patient, integrating mental and physical health strategies.
  • Facilitate group treatment sessions that encourage peer support and shared experiences for individuals facing similar challenges.
  • Regularly monitor patient progress, utilizing feedback to adapt treatment plans as necessary, ensuring effective care.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using the EPIC system, documenting sessions and following patient progress.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in mental health practices related to weight control, actively participating in ongoing education and training opportunities.
  • Adhere to ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and trust in the therapeutic relationship.
  • Contribute to fostering a collaborative team environment through proactive communication and active involvement in case discussions.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on individuals struggling with weight management issues, including obesity and binge eating. This demographic often requires a multifaceted approach to therapy, combining psychological and behavioral techniques. As a member of our community health clinic, your work will directly influence the lives of diverse patients, promoting healthier coping mechanisms and improving their quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A masterโ€™s degree in mental health counseling or a related field is required.
  • Must hold a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in the state of Florida.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are imperative for effective patient interaction and collaboration.
  • The ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 15 pounds is necessary.
  • Visual acuity is essential, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a clinical setting focusing on mental health aspects of weight management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the EPIC electronic medical records system would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a community health environment that promotes collaborative care.
Compensation and Benefits
