Job description

Position Overview

Providence Mental Therapy Session Center is seeking compassionate and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. This full-time remote position provides an exceptional opportunity to deliver critical support to children and families dealing with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our ideal candidates are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, enhancing our ability to serve a diverse clientele across the state of Connecticut.

About the Organization

At Providence Mental Therapy Session Center, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services tailored to the unique needs of our clients. Our organization prides itself on a collaborative approach, partnering with a wide range of professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children and adolescents. We focus on evidence-based practices, supporting families in a compassionate and understanding environment that empowers them to overcome challenges.

Work Environment

The work setting for this role is completely remote, allowing for flexibility and a comfortable work-life balance. However, our therapists will frequently visit clients in their homes or attend sessions at our outpatient clinics. With support services available throughout the state of Connecticut, you will remain connected to a well-coordinated Child Family Treatment Team, bolstering the efforts of all caregivers involved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions in clientsโ€™ homes or through virtual platforms, ensuring tailored and impactful support.
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques to assist clients with anger management, develop coping strategies, and enhance social skills.
  • Actively work to address high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, through structured interventions.
  • Guide adolescents and caregivers in improving decision-making skills to effectively handle behavioral challenges within the home setting.
  • Engage in collaborative approaches, working closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and professionals from various disciplines.
  • Complete and submit all documentationโ€”including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notesโ€”within designated timeframes to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in monthly meetings to review cases and provide essential feedback to enhance care strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily involves working with children aged 3 to 20 and their families. Many of these children face developmental disabilities and cognitive challenges, and the support provided will significantly influence their behavioral and emotional well-being. As an LMFT, your role will be pivotal in building their resilience and teaching essential life skills that support positive development.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • Must hold an active and unrestricted LMFT license.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend flexibility preferred.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license with access to a registered vehicle is essential for home visits.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing positive behavior support and intervention strategies is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), will be an asset.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes:

  • Comprehensive health coverage for you and your family.
  • Annual paid time off to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
  • Short and long-term disability insurance for peace of mind.
  • A 401K retirement plan to help you save for the future.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • A dynamic work environment where your contributions will make a difference.

Joining Providence Mental Therapy Session Center not only positions you to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families but also opens up numerous avenues for professional growth.
