Job description

The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and strategicย Associate Director of Web and Digital Platforms to join the Marketing and Communications team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this full-time, fiscal-year position provides leadership for the University's web strategy, digital content initiatives, and online presence, ensuring UMPI's website and digital platforms support institutional goals while delivering an accessible, engaging, and user-focused experience.

The successful candidate will oversee website strategy, content governance, SEO, accessibility, analytics, and digital platform integrations while collaborating with campus partners, Information Technology, and marketing partners to continuously improve website functionality, performance, and user experience. This position also provides training and guidance to faculty, staff, and other campus stakeholders on web governance, accessibility, analytics, and digital content best practices.

This position may be performed remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or on campus, depending on the needs of the University and the successful candidate. Occasional travel to the UMPI campus for training and meetings may be required. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.

The salary for this full-time position is $57,000.00. The University will consider the salaries of current University of Maine System employees when determining transfer or promotional appointments, based on applicable policies, skills, and experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in web development, computer science, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in front-end web development and management using WordPress or similar content management systems.
  • Knowledge in WordPress, Kadence blocks, HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.ย ย 
  • In-depth understanding of website information architecture, content priorities, accessibility standards, SEO, mobile-first design, and how to work within style guidelines.ย ย 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • For remote work, a stable internet connection with download speeds of at least 25 Mbps is required and annual completion of a Remote Work Agreement is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education marketing or branding.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Working knowledge of AP Style.
  • Experience with operational management, systems analysis, and process improvement.
