Job description

Blackwall is an AI-enabled security and web infrastructure company dedicated to safeguarding web ecosystems from automated threats.
Deployed across 2.3M+ websites and applications, GateKeeper - our flagship product - is trusted by 100+ service and hosting partners globally. We help partners enhance performance, reduce operational costs, and maximize revenue by protecting SMB customers worldwide against emerging threats with simplicity, affordability, and scalability.
We partner with Hosting Service Providers (HSPs), MSPs, and digital platforms to deliver security, performance, and monetization solutions at scale. Our Partner Success team plays a critical role in turning partnerships into measurable growth engines.
Blackwall is looking for a senior, partner-facing Sales Engineer to support our US growth. This role sits at the intersection of Sales, Tech Ops, and Product, and is responsible for ensuring our solutions are correctly designed, validated, and ready for deployment within partner environments.
You will act as the technical counterpart to the US Sales function, leading technical engagement from initial qualification through Proof of Concept, and ensuring readiness for successful implementation.
Role Setup
  • Reports to: VP Sales US
  • Works closely with: Sales, Tech Ops, Partner Success, Product
  • Location: remote within United States

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will partner closely with US Sales to support deal progression and conversion by owning the technical dimension of partner acquisition.
  • You will lead technical discovery with partners, understanding their infrastructure, constraints, and business models.
  • You will design and propose solution architectures aligned with Blackwall's capabilities and partner environments.
  • You will lead and coordinate Proof of Concept phases in collaboration with Tech Ops, ensuring solutions are validated and deployable.
  • You will identify technical risks early and define mitigation approaches to avoid delays or failed integrations.
  • You will support solution positioning through product demonstrations, technical discussions, and tailored proposals.
  • You will engage directly with partners via calls, onsite meetings, and industry events as the technical face of Blackwall.
  • You will deliver technical enablement and training sessions to partners and customers.
  • You will collaborate with Tech Ops and Partner Success to ensure smooth transition from validation to production.
  • You will contribute to defining reference architectures and best practices based on partner needs and market feedback.
  • You will provide input to Product and Engineering based on recurring requirements and integration patterns.

Requirements:
  • You bring 15+ years of experience in solutions engineering, solutions architecture, or technical pre-sales roles.
  • You have strong experience in infrastructure environments such as hosting, CDNs, ISPs, MSPs, or web-scale platforms.
  • You understand web traffic architecture, including reverse proxies, web servers (NGINX, Apache), and security layers (WAF, bot protection, DDoS).
  • You have led complex technical engagements, including Proof of Concept and partner integrations.
  • You are comfortable operating both at architectural level and in hands-on technical discussions.
  • You have worked closely with Sales teams and understand commercial deal cycles.
  • You are credible and confident in front of senior technical stakeholders and partners.
  • You are self-sufficient, structured, and able to operate in a fast-paced scale-up environment without heavy support structures.

We are striving to create a diverse and inclusive environment. We encourage all applicants to apply for our roles. We value and actively seek diverse talent!
