Job description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Front-End Software Engineer – Web Games for our client, a creative technology powerhouse and global technology leader. In this fully remote contract role, you'll help build polished, high-performance web game experiences by developing responsive user interfaces, fixing bugs, and delivering new features using React, TypeScript, Solid.js, and modern front-end technologies. Working on client's Casual Games team, you'll collaborate with engineers, designers, and producers to transform Figma designs into pixel-perfect, accessible web applications while contributing to an exciting next-generation gaming platform. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced front-end engineer who enjoys solving complex UI challenges, optimizing performance, and building engaging experiences used by millions of players.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Modern Front-End Development (React, TypeScript, Solid.js): Build and enhance responsive web applications, implement new features, resolve defects, and develop reusable UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks and TypeScript.
  2. Pixel-Perfect UI & Responsive Design: Translate Figma designs into production-ready interfaces with exceptional attention to visual detail, accessibility (WCAG 2.x), responsive layouts, and cross-browser compatibility.
  3. Web Performance & Quality Engineering: Optimize application performance, troubleshoot front-end issues, conduct thorough testing, and deliver high-quality code with minimal regressions.
  4. Web Technologies & Data Integration: Work with HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, Node.js, Git, Azure DevOps, REST APIs, JSON, Webpack/Vite, and modern development workflows to build scalable web experiences.

Opportunity Overview:

Join a Fortune 50 company's Casual Games team— and the creators behind some of the world's most recognizable browser-based games, including Solitaire. You'll become part of a small, highly collaborative engineering team building the next generation of web gaming experiences, where you'll have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions without layers of bureaucracy slowing innovation. This fully remote role offers the chance to work with modern front-end technologies while creating polished, engaging experiences enjoyed by millions of users worldwide.

How you will make an impact:

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Design teams to deliver high-quality web game features.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, and production-ready UI components from Figma designs and interaction specifications.
  • Implement bug fixes and small feature enhancements across existing web applications.
  • Enhance and extend design systems and shared front-end framework code.
  • Deliver pixel-perfect user experiences across browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
  • Participate in code reviews while following established quality, security, and accessibility standards.
  • Optimize front-end performance, telemetry, and error tracking where appropriate.
  • Plan, communicate, and track work using Azure DevOps and project management tools.
  • Contribute to a collaborative Agile development environment with daily standups and minimal meeting overhead.

The expertise you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5–7 years of professional front-end software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with React and TypeScript in production environments.
  • Experience with Solid.js or the ability to quickly learn and contribute using modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (ES6+), TS/TSX, and JSON.
  • Experience using Node.js, npm, Git, Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, Webpack, and Vite.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with JSON-based data services.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web development, accessibility (WCAG 2.x AA), and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience translating Figma designs into polished production interfaces.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

Candidates who excel in this position combine exceptional front-end engineering skills with meticulous attention to UI quality and user experience. They consistently deliver pixel-perfect implementations from design specifications, thoroughly test their work to minimize regressions, and understand how to balance visual polish with performance optimization. Experience with HTML Canvas, responsive single-page applications, CSS animations, web accessibility, touch-friendly interfaces, and web game development concepts will help candidates stand out, as will familiarity with TypeScript, React, Solid.js, performance profiling, and modern front-end tooling.
