Overview / Summary
HTC is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to lead quality assurance for the Public Health Data Portal Expansion. This role is responsible for test strategy, planning, and execution across all project milestones, ensuring the solution is reliable, accessible, performant, and ready for formal acceptance. The position combines hands-on automation with QA leadership, working closely with development, DevSecOps, business analysts, and stakeholders to support continuous testing, defect management, and UAT readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

  • Own overall test strategy, planning, and execution across project milestones
  • Develop and maintain test approaches covering functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
  • Ensure test coverage aligns with deliverables and acceptance expectations
  • Track quality risks and drive mitigation planning

Functional, API & Automation Testing

  • Write and maintain test cases mapped to project deliverables
  • Execute and maintain automated, repeatable test suites across the application stack
  • Perform API testing using BDD frameworks (e.g., Behat, Cucumber, Postman/Newman)
  • Support unit and integration testing across backend (PHPUnit) and frontend (Jest)
  • Integrate automated test scripts into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps)

Accessibility, Performance & Quality Validation

  • Implement and maintain accessibility compliance scans (ADA / Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA) using pa11y and axe-core
  • Configure accessibility checks as CI/CD blocking gates
  • Execute performance and load testing to validate capacity and response benchmarks
  • Ensure usability, accessibility, and operational quality standards are met

Defect Management & Delivery Support

  • Manage full defect lifecycle using Azure DevOps and/or Jira
  • Coordinate with development teams on defect resolution and priorities
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps on pipeline integration and quality controls
  • Produce test reports, coverage metrics, and QA sign-off documentation

UAT & Stakeholder Support

  • Support UAT sessions with test scenarios, data, and documentation
  • Organize stakeholder testing and validation cycles
  • Confirm readiness for milestone acceptance and knowledge transfer
  • Contribute to Agile delivery processes across cross-functional teams
  • Leverage AI-powered tools for test case generation where appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of software QA experience on web applications and multi-layer solutions
  • Hands-on experience with automated test coverage (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent)
  • Experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing at enterprise scale
  • Experience with API testing (Postman, Newman, REST-assured, Behat, or similar BDD frameworks)
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with accessibility testing (ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1 AA)
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail)
  • Experience producing test documentation, metrics, and QA sign-off materials
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional and client stakeholders
