Job description

Air Quality – Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced air permitting and environmental compliance Project Manager to join our growing Environmental Permitting/Compliance Group.  The qualified candidate must have 7-10+ years of professional experience with the below environmental activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review comprehensive construction and operating air permit applications, for client projects in accordance with applicable local, state, and/or federal agency air regulations or standards.
  • Performing and reviewing emission calculations.
  • Review and evaluate state and federal regulation applicability.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory reports and routine compliance reports as required by permits and applicable regulations.
  • Review and analyze results of emissions testing.
  • Assist clients with developing permitting strategies and pathways to continuous compliance.
  • Routinely communicate with clients and regulators.
  • Performing site visits.
  • Support preparation of proposals and project invoicing.
  • Ability to successfully manage projects and project budgets, in addition to client, regulatory agency, and vendor relationships.
  • Management, mentoring, and training of professional staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or other advanced degree in Environmental/Chemical/Civil Engineering.  PE or PE eligible preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental consulting, focused on air quality.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and an understanding of the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Demonstrated understanding of state and federal air quality regulations and specific knowledge of general air permitting process: NSR, Title V, PSD, NSPS, NESHAP, BACT, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote work situation when needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail and completeness.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks with firm deadlines, sometimes deadlines could be simultaneous.
  • Experience with other environmental regulatory programs including stormwater, wastewater, and solid and hazardous waste management, and environmental due diligence is a plus.
