What does a Remote VR do?

A typical day for a Remote VR professional often involves collaborating with designers, developers, and project managers through virtual meetings, writing and reviewing code for VR applications, prototyping immersive environments, and testing builds on various devices. You may spend time researching new VR techniques, documenting your work, and communicating progress or challenges with your team using digital collaboration tools. Depending on the project phase, tasks can shift between creative brainstorming, intensive programming, and quality assurance testing. Working remotely gives flexibility, but strong time management is essential to meet project milestones and ensure effective teamwork.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote VR position, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote VR (Virtual Reality) professional, you need a solid background in VR development or design, strong programming skills (often in Unity or Unreal Engine), and a relevant degree in computer science, digital media, or a related field. Familiarity with VR hardware platforms (such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive), 3D modeling software, and possibly certifications in XR or immersive technologies are typically valuable. Strong communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills help you stand out when collaborating with distributed teams and managing projects independently. These abilities support effective creation and troubleshooting of immersive experiences in a remote work environment.

What is a Remote VR?

A Remote VR job involves working with virtual reality (VR) technology from a remote location. This can include roles in VR development, design, support, or content creation for applications such as gaming, training, and simulations. Employees use VR headsets, software, and collaboration tools to build or interact with virtual environments. Remote VR jobs require skills in programming, 3D modeling, UX design, or technical support, depending on the specific role.

Job Overview:

At Forge, we don’t just build digital products — we craft experiences.

We’re looking for a Creative Designer to bring visual impact, movement, and imagination to our team. While our current creative squad is rooted in UI/UX design, we’re expanding — and we need a visionary designer who thrives at the intersection of graphic design, motion, and 3D storytelling.

You’ll lead the way in developing motion UI, video compositions, interactive 3D concepts and brand identities for web, AR/VR, and immersive digital activations. You’ll collaborate with designers and developers to elevate the visual expression of the experiences we create — from pitches to polished products.

 Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative direction and execution of graphic and motion-based assets across multiple projects and platforms.
  • Design and animate motion graphics and microinteractions for websites, mobile apps, and video content.
  • Develop 3D assets and animations for use in digital activations, AR/VR experiences, and web-based interactions.
  • Participate in creative ideation for new business proposals and pitch decks.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to enhance product interfaces with motion UI and storytelling-driven visuals.
  • Design basic web and app user interfaces, bringing graphic design sensibility to interface layouts.
  • Conceptualize and create brand identities and visual systems for clients across industries.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure creative concepts are feasible, scalable, and technically sound.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Forge design culture with creative energy, innovation, and experimentation.

 Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Graphic Designer, Motion Designer, or multidisciplinary Creative.
Proven ability to conceptualize and execute motion graphics, animations, and microinteractions.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing motion work, and 3D/multimedia projects,  brand identity design.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Figma, Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar.
  • Experience designing for web, mobile, and emerging platforms (AR/VR, interactive installations, etc.).
  • Understanding of creative workflows in a tech-driven environment.
  • Basic skills in UI design and component-based interfaces.
  • Strong visual storytelling and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Luxury / fashion / beauty / cosmetics experience a plus.
  • Bonus if you have experience with real-time rendering tools, Unity/Unreal Engine, or WebGL frameworks.
