Foth is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Process Engineer who has a desire to contribute to our clients' success and is looking for new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth. This position will be working out one of our Foth local office or remote locations.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop process mechanical deliverables from concept through construction
  • Develop equipment specifications, process and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs), equipment lists, line lists, POC lists, and operation specifications
  • Work with designers to create drawings
  • Write installation scope documents
  • Prepare and give technical reviews to clients regarding project-related items
  • Coordinate with other project disciplines as required
  • Work with clients, vendors, and suppliers to develop deliverables
  • Estimate process engineering hours and schedule for proposals
  • Oversee and QC engineering work of others (e.g., drawings, calculations, designs, etc.)
  • Support construction to include onsite and remote
  • Lead checkout/start-up efforts associated with project work
  • Provide technical leadership and manage process mechanical discipline project members
  • Coach and mentor others as required
  • Ability to travel as needed with anticipation of 25-50% annually

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
  • 10+ years of professional process engineering experience
  • 7+ years of brewing process engineering calculations, brewery capacity, sizing, and throughput calculations

Required previous experience with the following:
  • Reading & Interpreting Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs)
  • Developing mass and energy balances
  • Calculating flow conditions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 24 months
  • Experience utilizing 3D tools such as Navisworks, Plant 3D, VR, and 3D Scans
  • Engineered Package development including Scope of Work, P&IDs, Specifications & Mechanical Equipment Arrangements

Preferred Experience with the following:
  • Sizing and specifying brewing and fermentation vessels, beer filtration systems, and yeast propagation and handling systems
  • Designing mix-proof valve manifolds
  • Selecting brewing instrumentation
  • Designing flavor injection systems to produce FMBs (flavored malt beverages)
  • Clean-in Place (CIP) system design, operation, and optimization

$90,000 - $150,000 a year
The base compensation listed for this job posting reflects a general range for the posted position. Base compensation will vary based on factors such as: years of experience, location, level of responsibility and licenses/certifications. In addition to base compensation, Foth members may be eligible to receive bonuses through our Earned Performance Incentive program. All employees are eligible for On-the-Spot bonuses. Exempt members are also eligible for either quarterly and/or annual bonuses.
