Their role involves collaborating with other artists, directors, and production teams to establish the visual style and mood of a project. They use digital tools and software to create concept art, mood boards, and style guides, ensuring consistency and artistic vision throughout the production. Job description

Job Title: Global Creative Capability, AI & Innovation Lead

  • Location: Morristown, NJ or Remote

About the Job

The AI-Driven Customer Engagement (AICE) team is transforming how Sanofi goes to market by combining human expertise with AI, automation, data, and new ways of working.

The Marketing Transformation & AI Strategy team helps define and build the capabilities required to make this transformation real. This includes identifying and testing emerging technologies, redesigning workflows, developing scalable frameworks, and helping teams adopt new approaches across brands and markets.

As content creation becomes increasingly AI-enabled, visual design must evolve beyond traditional production. Designers need new tools, skills, standards, and operating models that allow them to work more efficiently while continuing to deliver high-quality, differentiated customer experiences.

This role will help shape that evolutionโ€”connecting visual design expertise with AI, creative technology, capability building, and organizational change.

The Global Creative Capability, AI & Innovation Lead is responsible for evolving how visual design is enabled and delivered across AICE and the broader marketing organization.

This is a transformation and capability-building role rather than a traditional content-production position. The role will evaluate and advance AI-enabled design tools, improve creative workflows, establish scalable design frameworks, and help visual designers adopt new technologies and ways of working.

A central responsibility will be coaching and developing visual designers across internal teams, distributed pods, and external partners. The role will create practical guidance, learning resources, templates, and communities of practice that enable designers to use emerging technologies effectively while maintaining strong standards for brand consistency, customer experience, accessibility, and quality.

The role will also serve as a subject-matter expert and strategic partner for teams exploring new visual design capabilities. This includes identifying business needs, translating them into capability requirements, testing potential solutions, and helping determine which tools and approaches should be piloted, scaled, integrated, or discontinued.

While the role may occasionally provide hands-on design support to test a new capability, create a proof of concept, or demonstrate a recommended approach, its primary purpose is to enable and elevate the work of othersโ€”not to serve as a central production resource.

Success requires deep visual design expertise, curiosity about emerging technology, and the ability to turn experimentation into practical, scalable ways of working. The ideal candidate combines the judgment of an experienced designer with the mindset of a coach, capability builder, and transformation leader.

Join the team transforming how healthcare is delivered for chronic and specialty conditions worldwide. In General Medicines, youโ€™ll help drive meaningful outcomes in diabetes, transplant, and immunology with the scale and urgency patients deserve.

About Sanofi:
Weโ€™re an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving peopleโ€™s lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system โ€“ and innovative pipeline โ€“ enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve peopleโ€™s lives

Main Responsibilities

Visual Design Capability Strategy

  • Define and evolve the visual design capabilities needed to support Sanofiโ€™s future marketing model.

  • Translate business, customer, and designer needs into clear capability requirements and priorities.

  • Establish scalable visual design principles, frameworks, standards, and recommended ways of working.

  • Help ensure that evolving design capabilities support brand consistency, accessibility, user experience, localization, and channel effectiveness.

  • Advise marketing and transformation leaders on emerging opportunities, capability gaps, and investment priorities related to visual design.

AI, Tools and Creative Technology

  • Identify and evaluate AI-enabled design tools, creative technologies, and emerging capabilities that could improve design quality, speed, scalability, or user experience.

  • Lead or support structured discovery, experimentation, and proof-of-concept work to assess potential business value.

  • Define practical use cases, success criteria, risks, and requirements for new tools and capabilities.

  • Partner with Digital, Technology, Procurement, Legal, Regulatory, and other relevant teams to support responsible evaluation and adoption.

  • Translate successful experimentation into repeatable workflows, guidance, and scalable solutions.

  • Monitor developments in generative AI, design automation, modular content, creative technology, and digital experience design.

Workflow and Operating-Model Transformation

  • Assess current visual design workflows and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or improve them.

  • Help redesign how visual work is briefed, created, reviewed, adapted, localized, and reused.

  • Develop scalable approaches that allow global and local teams to work effectively across brands, markets, channels, and production partners.

  • Support the development of design systems, modular frameworks, templates, reusable components, and automation opportunities.

  • Partner with operations and transformation colleagues to embed new capabilities into broader content and marketing workflows.

  • Use feedback, adoption insights, and performance data to continuously improve tools and ways of working.

Designer Enablement and Coaching

  • Coach and mentor visual designers across internal teams, global pods, and partner organizations.

  • Help designers build confidence and proficiency in AI-enabled workflows, emerging creative tools, design systems, and modern digital practices.

  • Develop onboarding materials, playbooks, demonstrations, training programs, and practical learning resources.

  • Establish forums and communities of practice that encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, experimentation, and continuous learning.

  • Provide constructive guidance and expert review when teams are adopting a new tool, workflow, or design approach.

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of visual design talent where needed, helping ensure that skills and role profiles align with future capability requirements.

Standards, Governance and Quality Enablement

  • Establish clear guardrails for the responsible and effective use of AI within visual design.

  • Develop frameworks that help teams maintain appropriate standards for quality, brand integrity, accessibility, user experience, and regulatory compliance.

  • Create evaluation criteria that allow teams to assess the quality and suitability of AI-generated or AI-assisted visual outputs.

  • Partner with brand, regulatory, legal, and technology stakeholders to address risks and clarify appropriate uses of emerging capabilities.

  • Help teams balance creative experimentation with the standards required in a highly regulated environment.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Content Strategy, Digital, Technology, Operations, brand teams, markets, agencies, and external vendors.

  • Act as the bridge between designers, marketers, technology teams, and business stakeholders when defining or implementing new capabilities.

  • Facilitate working sessions that turn business challenges into practical design and technology solutions.

  • Communicate complex design and technology concepts in a clear, actionable way for both creative and non-creative audiences.

  • Contribute to the broader Marketing Transformation & AI Strategy roadmap and help connect visual design priorities with other transformation initiatives.
