Responsibilities
  • Partners with the Recruiting Department, for identifying and filling key vacancies for their region or client group. Also takes a leadership role in the selection of candidates for key positions within the region or department.
  • While working with the recruitment teams, helps coordinate and participate in College Recruitment in their Region.
  • Works Closely with the VPO's and RPD's regarding workforce planning.
  • Monitors and tracks turnover for the region.
  • As a strategic partner, the HR Generalist aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.
  • Takes a leadership role in succession planning. Partnering with the VPO or Department Head, completes an annual Succession Planning process.  Helps to develop a leadership profile for high potentials and helps create development opportunities for these high potentials.
  • Implements and conducts training programs and oversees developmental plans for their region.
  • Assists the compensation team in creating and modifying job descriptions.
  • Monitors and evaluates client employee practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and to limit potential liability for violations of employment and wage and hour laws.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and initiatives that promote human resource best practices and help achieve the Company's strategic goals.
  • Consults with clients regarding the corrective action process for obtaining performance or behavioral change in the workforce. Guides supervisory staff in the separation process for disciplinary reasons and for reduction in force.
  • Provides supervisory training in general management topics such as Conducting Performance Evaluations, Coaching, Wage and Hour Regulations, Interviewing Techniques, FMLA, ADA.
  • Works with compensation and region to ensure that compensation practices are externally competitive and provide for internal equity. Assists the region with the process of obtaining job change, status change, market adjustments.
  • Reviews personnel actions from the region to ensure that actions are warranted, and policies followed.
  • Assists the Benefits department with the rollout and communication of new programs and initiatives.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Learning Experience:

  • Required:  BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Desired:  MA/MBA.

Work Experience:

  • Required:  Minimum of 7 years of prior generalist experience in HR.
  • Desired:  Prior experience in participating in EEOC and Department of Labor investigations and charge response; participation in DOL wage and hour audits.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Required:  Strong knowledge of compensation, employment law, recruitment, benefits, training, and Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Desired:  Knowledge of HRIS and Microsoft Access.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Desired:  SPHR or equivalent.

Behavior Competencies:

  • Required:  Excellent oral/written communications, analytical thinking, organization and planning, teamwork, adaptability, customer service, and consultative skills.
