Senior Application SQL DBA
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a Senior Application SQL DBA with 10+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience to support mission-critical applications.
The ideal candidate will possess 7+ years of strong SQL Server administration expertise and experience supporting production databases, application deployments, database performance optimization, security management, backup and recovery operations, and database modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead SQL Server Database Administrator supporting production, test, and development environments.
  • Maintain database integrity, availability, performance, and security across mission-critical applications.
  • Perform routine database administration activities, including backups, recovery, monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement database changes, scripts, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
  • Support Production and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) database deployments and releases.
  • Monitor and maintain SQL Server jobs, scheduled tasks, and database automation processes.
  • Perform data corrections, data validation, database refreshes, and monthly database snapshot activities.
  • Support data migration, database modernization, and transition activities associated with future case management initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with developers, systems administrators, testers, and Government stakeholders to support application enhancements and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal security, privacy, configuration management, and database management standards.
  • Maintain technical documentation, database diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational support documentation.
Required Experience

  • 7+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Transact-SQL (T-SQL), stored procedures, views, triggers, and database design.
  • Experience supporting production database environments and mission-critical applications.
  • Experience performing database backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and database security administration.
  • Experience with database performance monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting database deployments, upgrades, and release management activities.
  • Experience writing and executing SQL scripts for data analysis, data correction, and data migration activities.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
