We're looking for a Consultant, Marketing Management to help shape how Nationwide's E&S Wholesale businesses show up in the market by translating our expertise, value proposition, and specialized solutions into compelling partner-facing marketing. You'll influence how we connect with wholesale agents and brokers while helping bring integrated marketing strategies to life.

This position is part of the Business Solutions Marketing team and is especially well suited for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys connecting strategy to execution, and understands how to market specialized insurance solutions to distribution partners. In this role, you will have the opportunity to market to wholesale agents and brokers while diving into all parts of the marketing strategy including digital solutions, events, public relations, paid media, social, and creative strategy to help shape and activate integrated marketing plans.

What you'll do

In this role, you will partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to translate business objectives, market insights, and performance data into clear marketing strategies and high-impact initiatives. This role is responsible for helping define priorities, shaping product and audience messaging, guiding marketing plans, and supporting the development and delivery of content and campaigns across channels.

• Partner with business leaders and internal stakeholders to align on product marketing direction based on business objectives, market conditions, research, insights, and in-market performance.

• Help define high-level marketing initiatives, priorities, desired outcomes, and recommended investments that support product and business plans.

• Develop product marketing plans and messaging strategies that strengthen awareness, consideration, and adoption of E&S Wholesale solutions with key wholesale partner audiences.

• Translate product, appetite, market, and customer insights into audience-focused messaging and thought leadership that showcase our expertise.

• Develop project briefs and collaborate with creative, content, media, digital, delivery, and channel partners to bring strategies to life.

• Support the creation and execution of integrated marketing across channels such as email, web, paid media, social, public relations, and print.

• Partner with Marketing Operations and other stakeholders to identify capability, process, or technology needs that improve marketing effectiveness and distribution partner experience.

• Monitor performance metrics and use results to optimize current work and inform future strategy, planning, and investment decisions.

• Build strong relationships across marketing, product, underwriting, distribution, and other business partners to ensure alignment and effective execution.

• Maintain a strong understanding of the E&S marketplace, product priorities, competitive dynamics, and partner needs.

This hybrid position may be based Columbus, OH or Scottsdale, AZ. Candidates located near a Nationwide campus will collaborate in office 2 days per week. Current Nationwide Remote Associates may also be considered.

As a Consultant, you are responsible for leading and/or assisting the overall development and execution of marketing strategies using highly advanced marketing principles and standard methodologies. You will execute on future business or marketing needs driven by quantitative data/research, competitive insights and/or consumer behaviors. We'll count on you to ensure a strong focus on end-to-end customer experience, delivering outstanding customer experience overall.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business. Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions

• Leads projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.

• Implements digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning, and execution.

• Collaborates on and/or may lead creative development, and provides feedback on look and feel. Develops creative briefs.

• Monitors emerging innovative trends in content, design and marketing tactics

• Reviews and uses customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and forecast market, competitor and customer needs and behavior, define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.

• Ensures programs are on strategy and on schedule.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director/AVP. This is an individual contributor role and may have an opportunity to manage a team based on organizational structure; may also lead virtual/project teams.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or related field preferred. Master's degree is a plus.

License/Certification/Designation: Technical financial services designations such as FINRA, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus. Additional licensing may be required to hold this position; and associates will need to acquire the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails or is unable to acquire required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.

Experience: Typically eight or more years related professional experience in marketing, strategy, consulting, financial services, or related field.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of marketing methodologies, insurance and/or financial services products, distribution systems, and customers. Knowledge of project leadership concepts and methodologies. Possesses strong verbal and written skills needed to develop and review research studies, communicate research findings, market recommendations based on findings, and maintain relationships. Ability to lead and prioritize projects. Ability to function independently or in a team environment with limited supervision. Demonstrates core marketing proficiencies, including strategy development, utilization of insights and analytics, building brand equity and developing effective marketing communications. Skilled at customer focus, operating capabilities, personal effectiveness, and strategic capabilities.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
