We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Business Development Manager to expand our footprint in the military and government sector.

Position Overview: The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing business opportunities within the military and government markets. This role requires a deep understanding of defense technology requirements, government procurement processes, and strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to drive revenue growth, establish key relationships, and position Altera as a trusted semiconductor partner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy focused on military and government customers.

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with defense contractors, government agencies, and military organizations.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officers, and technology leaders within the sector.

  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to align solutions with government and military requirements.

  • Lead capture management efforts, including proposal development, contract negotiations, and bid strategies.

  • Stay abreast of government regulations, funding programs, and procurement trends to capitalize on emerging opportunities.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful product adoption and customer satisfaction.

  • Represent Altera at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

Salary Range

The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based ona number offactors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences,trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

$178.9K- $259.0KUSD

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience in business development, sales, or government contracting within the semiconductor, defense, or aerospace industries.

  • 5+ years experience in customer facing or business development role.

  • Strong knowledge of military and government procurement processes, including FAR/DFARS compliance.

  • Proven track record of winning and managing large contracts with government entities.

  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently, think strategically, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Security clearance or ability to obtain one is a plus.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Experience with government contracts, creating the work plan, and SOW execution.
