What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Venture Capital (VC) professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Venture Capital (VC) professional, you need a deep understanding of financial analysis, investment strategies, and market research, often backed by a degree in finance, business, or economics. Familiarity with tools like Excel, CRM platforms, deal sourcing software, and data analytics systems is typically expected. Strong networking, communication, and critical thinking skills help you build relationships and make informed investment decisions remotely. These competencies ensure you can effectively identify promising startups, conduct due diligence, and drive successful investments in a competitive, global environment.

What is a Remote Venture Capital (VC) professional?

A Remote Venture Capital (VC) professional is someone who works in venture capital—investing in startups and early-stage companies—while performing their duties remotely, rather than from a traditional office setting. Their responsibilities include sourcing deals, conducting due diligence, networking with entrepreneurs, supporting portfolio companies, and managing investment portfolios, all using digital tools and virtual communication. This remote setup allows VC professionals to work with startups across different regions and access a broader network of opportunities. Remote VCs rely heavily on video conferencing, data analysis platforms, and collaboration tools to evaluate investment opportunities and support their investments. As remote work becomes more common, this role offers flexibility and access to global startup ecosystems.

What are some common challenges faced by remote Venture Capital (VC) professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Remote VC professionals often face challenges in building strong relationships with founders and co-investors due to limited in-person interactions. Additionally, sourcing high-quality deals and conducting thorough due diligence can be more complex without on-site visits or face-to-face meetings. These challenges can be addressed by leveraging video conferencing for regular check-ins, utilizing digital deal-flow platforms, and participating in virtual networking events. Establishing clear communication channels and setting up periodic team meetings also help maintain collaboration and alignment within the investment team.

Job description

Description
DealHub provides a leading solution to streamline quote-to-revenue processes. With top brands within the industry and a must-have product, we help our customers take their business to the top.
We are seeking an experienced PE & VC Partner Manager to lead our strategic partnerships with Private Equity (PE) firms and Venture Capital (VC) firms. This role is pivotal in expanding DealHub's footprint within the investment ecosystem by cultivating deep relationships with GTM & Value Creation specialists, portfolio operators, and investment professionals.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of working directly within the PE/VC ecosystem - either through a role at a fund or by managing partnerships with such firms in a SaaS or technology vendor context. This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on driving mutual value through partnership development, joint go-to-market initiatives, and ecosystem engagement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a partnership strategy for Private Equity and Venture Capital firms to expand DealHub's presence in their portfolios.
  • Recruit new PE and VC partners, identifying high-potential firms and building long-term, value-driven relationships.
  • Manage and grow existing partnerships, maintaining regular engagement with current PE/VC partners and ensuring growth & success across portfolio accounts.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between DealHub and PE/VC stakeholders, aligning partnership goals with DealHub's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to build tailored go-to-market programs & events targeting portfolio companies.
  • Track and report performance metrics of partner-driven business, ensuring accountability and measurable growth outcomes.
  • Represent DealHub at industry events, conferences, and networking functions relevant to PE and VC communities.

Requirements
  • MUST: Experience working within a Private Equity or Venture Capital firm, or experience managing partnerships and business development with PE and VC firms in a technology or SaaS company.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in partnership management, business development, or investment relations.
  • Strong understanding of investment models, portfolio structures, and how technology drives value creation in PE/VC-backed companies.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute partnership strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills at the executive level.
  • Highly organized, strategic, and capable of managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the SaaS, Revenue Operations, or B2B software industries.
  • Established network within the Private Equity and Venture Capital ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with CRM and revenue technologies (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, CPQ, CLM solutions).
