  • You will arrange cargo load for best support and to ensure the proper unloading sequence and, on occasion, may assist or direct the arrangement of cargo load out.
  • You will drive vehicles on specific trips or on regularly established schedules and routes in order to transport material and equipment within government installations, and between government installations.
  • You will maintain trip records or logs showing time of departure, sequence of stops, time of return, trip mileage, fuel and oil consumption, accidents, damages, or traffic violations.
  • You will operate trailers including enclosed vans, flatbeds, equipment trailers, lowboy trailers to 60 tons capacity, and occasionally other types of specialized trucks, tractor or truck-tractor combinations, which may include dual braking systems.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including:
1. Assessing traffic conditions and hazards locally and over long distance routes;
2. Using safety rules and regulations to operate vehicles such as, semi-tractor-trailers, heavy duty flatbed trucks, heavy fuel tank trucks, heavy straight in-line trucks, heavy duty tow trucks, heavy vacuum trucks, crane trucks, heavy duty waste disposal/trash collection trucks and vehicles weighing more than 32,000 pounds;
3. Selecting routes based on hazardous conditions and laws restricting use of roads based on size of trucks.
