Job description

Summary
This position is in the FSIS Office of Management's Administrative Services Division (ASD), Property Management Branch (PMB). The Property Management Branch provides overall control, utilization, disposition, and management of FSIS personal property, both in headquarters and in the field for the Food Safety and Inspection Service.

  • Administers FSIS vehicle program.
  • Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work.
  • Assists the FSIS fleet manager with vehicle fleet management program.
  • Implements policy changes.
  • Assists with investigations of vehicle accidents.
  • Coordinates with parties for collection and processing of tort claims documentation and evidence.
  • Administers property management program.
  • Receives, reviews, and processes claims for reimbursement for expenditures on official business.
  • Coordinates with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer for settlements.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. 52 weeks at the GS-11 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. (Must submit your most recent non-award SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade, step, etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience:
GS-12
Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing duties which include:
  • Providing federal Agency-wide oversight and recommendations for improving the effectiveness of a fleet management program.
  • Conducting and analyzing reports to identify trends or unusual order activity.
  • Resolving customer account issues.
  • Providing support by educating others on fleet and supply orders, processes, and procedures.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
There is no educational requirement or substitute for specialized experience for this position.
