Job description

Account Manager - Contracting and Provider Enrollment

We are looking for a highly organized Account Manager who wants to own a portfolio of healthcare accounts end to end - managing provider enrollment, payer contracting, and credentialing work directly, from a fully remote environment with a flexible schedule.

Overview & Highlights:

  • Location: Fully Remote / Virtual
  • Schedule: Full-Time | Flexible schedule options available under either a 4x10 or 5x8 structure
  • Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000 annual base salary
  • Bonus: Annual performance and profit-sharing bonus opportunity, with additional bonus potential for bringing an existing book of business or qualified referrals
  • Benefits: Unlimited PTO | No traditional benefits package currently offered
  • Work Setting: Fully virtual healthcare contracting, provider enrollment, credentialing, and account services environment

Location & Logistics:

  • Work Environment: 100% remote, working with healthcare organizations across multiple states
  • Systems: CAQH, payer portals, credentialing databases, provider enrollment applications, and tracking systems
  • Reporting Structure: Individual contributor role - no direct reports or people management responsibilities
  • Travel: None required
  • On-Call: None

About the Opportunity / A Day in the Life:

This is a highly visible, hands-on Account Manager role focused on healthcare contracting, provider enrollment, credentialing, and account management. You will personally manage a portfolio of healthcare accounts, serving as the primary operational point of contact for the organizations you support - managing projects, maintaining timelines, resolving payer issues, coordinating documentation, and completing the enrollment and contracting work yourself.

Your day-to-day centers on execution and coordination: submitting and tracking provider enrollment applications, moving payer contracts forward, keeping credentialing and recredentialing files current, following up with payers to resolve delays, and keeping every account's status, documentation, and next steps organized and visible. You will work within a billable-time structure, tracking your work accurately across accounts.

There are no people management responsibilities here. Success in this position comes from exceptional organization, communication, and follow-through - and the ability to manage multiple active accounts simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and a high level of service.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Fully remote with genuine schedule flexibility - choose a 4x10 or 5x8 structure
  • High-visibility role working directly with healthcare organizations on meaningful operational initiatives
  • Own your accounts end to end - relationship, workflow, and execution - without managing people
  • Profit-sharing and performance bonus structure, with extra upside for referrals or an existing book of business
  • Room to build and improve workflows, templates, tracking tools, and client reporting processes
  • Unlimited PTO

What We're Looking For:

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple accounts, payer requirements, deadlines, and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experienced in provider enrollment, payer contracting, credentialing, or healthcare administrative operations
  • Comfortable serving as the primary point of contact while maintaining professionalism, responsiveness, and accuracy
  • Strong project management and workflow coordination skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional follow-through and documentation habits
  • Motivated by operational excellence, service, organization, accountability, and relationship building

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of healthcare accounts with responsibility for timelines, deliverables, workflow coordination, and communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for provider enrollment, payer contracting, credentialing, and related operational requests
  • Complete provider enrollment, payer contracting, credentialing, and recredentialing workflows directly and accurately
  • Coordinate with payers, provider groups, and healthcare organizations to resolve enrollment or contracting issues and delays
  • Monitor project timelines, open tasks, documentation requirements, payer follow-ups, and deliverables across multiple active accounts
  • Maintain organized tracking tools, status updates, credentialing records, enrollment documentation, and reporting
  • Review applications, documentation, and submissions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with payer and operational requirements
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships through consistent, proactive, and responsive communication
  • Prioritize competing requests and deadlines while maintaining responsiveness, professionalism, and quality of work
  • Track billable time accurately and maintain productivity expectations within a service-delivery model
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies, operational bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve organization, communication, and service quality
  • Support strategic discussions related to enrollment status, contracting progress, credentialing workflows, and operational planning

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in healthcare provider enrollment, payer contracting, credentialing, or closely related healthcare administrative operations
  • Experience managing multiple accounts, projects, or operational workflows simultaneously - ideally 8-10+ client accounts or high-volume provider enrollment projects at one time
  • Direct experience handling provider enrollment applications, payer contracting workflows, credentialing documentation, and follow-up processes
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment with strong accountability and minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to professionally manage healthcare relationships
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and follow-through
  • Comfortable working in a billable-time environment and accurately tracking work performed

Preferred Background:

  • Experience using CAQH, payer portals, credentialing systems, enrollment applications, or tracking databases
  • Background in a provider-side, consulting, MSO, credentialing, RCM, or healthcare services environment (rather than exclusively payer-side settings)
  • Background supporting multi-state provider enrollment, payer contracting, delegated credentialing, or group practice growth
  • Experience building or improving workflows, templates, tracking tools, and client reporting processes
  • Prior leadership experience in a small-team environment requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on execution
  • Existing referral relationships or book of business within healthcare enrollment, credentialing, or contracting services

This Role Is Likely a Fit If You…

  • Enjoy building strong relationships while staying directly involved in day-to-day execution
  • Thrive when juggling multiple active accounts, payer requirements, and deadlines at once
  • Take pride in accurate documentation, organized tracking, and exceptional follow-through
  • Work best independently, with the discipline and accountability a remote role requires
  • Like solving operational challenges and improving workflows, templates, and processes

This Role May Not Be a Fit If You…

  • Are looking for a people-management position - this role has no direct reports
  • Prefer to oversee work rather than personally complete enrollment and contracting tasks
  • Find it difficult to stay organized across many simultaneous accounts and competing priorities
  • Are uncomfortable tracking billable time and working within a service-delivery model
  • Need a traditional employer benefits package - this position currently offers unlimited PTO but no traditional benefits

Why Join Us:

We are a team of high-level healthcare professionals focused on contracting, credentialing, and provider enrollment - and no matter how much experience you bring, you will learn a lot here. You will work directly with healthcare organizations on meaningful operational initiatives, with the flexibility of a fully remote environment, a competitive compensation structure with profit-sharing upside, and unlimited PTO.

If you meet our criteria and would like to be considered, please apply with your most updated Resume/CV. A cover letter and references are preferred but optional. We look forward to meeting you!
