Remote Unix Shell Scripting information

What are some common challenges faced when working remotely as a Unix Shell Scripting professional, and how can they be managed?

Remote Unix Shell Scripting professionals often encounter challenges such as managing asynchronous communication with team members, debugging scripts without direct access to certain systems, and ensuring secure handling of sensitive data. To address these, it's important to establish clear communication channels, leverage robust version control and remote debugging tools, and follow strict security protocols for accessing and transferring files. Proactively documenting your scripts and collaborating closely with system administrators can also help maintain efficiency and prevent misunderstandings in a remote setup.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with orchestration technologies (e.g., Agones, Kubernetes, AccelByte, Playfab), knowing when (and when not) to reach for them

  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in Rust

  • Strong knowledge of Docker, Git, and Linux (including shell scripting and system configuration)

  • Embrace a "we" culture in addition to being an outstanding collaborator and communicator

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
