Position Description
In this role, you will be a key player in our Oracle-based development projects, bridging the gap between database architecture and application functionality. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Architecting, designing, developing, and documenting structures for complex permitting applications
  • Fixing and developing application changes to meet functional and technical designs while adhering to coding standards and SDLC best practices
  • Debugging applications and ensuring specifications are met before integrating new modules and upgrades into the live production database system
  • Engaging with business analysts, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications
  • Supporting production systems by analyzing and resolving problems in a timely manner, and resolving end-user service requests
  • Preparing clear, comprehensive technical documentation for application specifications
  • Actively participating in Agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily stand-up meetings
  • Taking a customer-centric approach to problem-solving: responding promptly to stakeholder needs, soliciting feedback, and managing expectations
Required Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years of experience as an Oracle Developer utilizing PL/SQL (Oracle 19c/12c), Oracle Forms and Reports (12c), and Oracle APEX
  • Advanced PL/SQL Development: Extensive work with complex Stored Procedures, Packages, and Triggers
  • Modern Database Features: Deep understanding of PL/SQL Collections, Records, Table and Object Types, and Dynamic SQL
  • Application Integration: Proven expertise using Ref Cursors for fetching application data and Exception Handling for debugging and displaying accurate error messages
  • Version Control: Hands-on experience using Git and GitHub
  • Agile Methodology: Practical experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment utilizing Jira
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with QA staff and other developers

  • Strong ability to research, analyze, and map out the needs of existing and proposed systems to draft design blueprints
