Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Mental Health Counselor will include:

• Conducting comprehensive intake assessments to understand the individual needs of clients, both new and existing.
• Developing personalized treatment plans incorporating various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused techniques.
• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing innovative interventions to foster emotional healing and resilience.
• Setting measurable therapy goals and closely tracking client progress through regular reviews and adjustments to treatment modalities.
• Providing teletherapy services, thus ensuring clients have access to mental health support through various digital platforms.
• Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of client sessions as per ethical and legal requirements, enabling continuity of care.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay ahead of trends and emerging best practices in mental health treatment.

Our counseling practice caters to a wide range of individuals facing challenges including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. As a counselor at Tree of Life, you will work with clients from varying backgrounds and experiences, ensuring a holistic approach to mental wellness. The ideal candidate for this Mental Health Counselor position will possess the following qualifications:

• A current, state-issued license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD).
• A Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Behavioral Sciences. A Master's or doctoral degree is preferred.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with a grounded ability to connect with clients compassionately and non-judgmentally.
• Strong organizational capabilities, coupled with effective time-management skills to juggle multiple client caseloads.

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in trauma-informed therapy, crisis intervention, or working with specific populations such as adolescents or veterans will find their expertise to be particularly advantageous. Familiarity with tools such as electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms will also be beneficial.
