Job description

Job Title: Tree Care Technician: Foreman (Levels 1–4)


Location: The Urban Foresters, Austin, TX Branch
Department: Production 
Reports To: Production Manager


Role Objective
The Foreman is the primary leader of the three-person crew. This is an active climbing role responsible for the developmental, technical, and safety leadership of the team. The Foreman ensures that every job is executed to the highest arboricultural standards while actively mentoring crew members.


Core Responsibilities (All Levels)

  • Safety Mastery: Enforcing 100% compliance with ANSI Z133 standards and maintaining a zero-incident "Drop Zone."
  • Active Climbing: Performing precision pruning and complex removals (without cranes) while directing ground operations from the canopy.
  • Bilingual Communication: Serving as the bridge between management, English-speaking clients, and Spanish-speaking crew members.
  • Cultural Leadership: Leading the weekly Team Pulse and ensuring every crew member has an active, updated Wheel of Life.


Qualifications

  • Physical: Ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift 75+ lbs.
  • Credentials: Valid Texas Driver’s License (Class C a plus).
  • Safety: Willingness to obtain EHAP (Electrical Hazards Awareness Program) and First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Leadership: Proven capacity to lead, teach, and motivate a team of 3–5+ workers.
  • Technical: Advanced proficiency in climbing (SRT/DdRT) and rigging.
