Job description

Location: This position can work hybrid from our office in Denver, CO or fully remote.
Travel: Up to 5% domestic or international.
Job ID:

The Role:

We are looking for a Staff Product Marketing Manager, Space Solutions to lead go-to-market strategy for IonQ's space portfolio within Quantum Platform. Reporting to the Head of Product Marketing, Quantum Platform, this role will shape how IonQ's Space Solutions portfolio is understood in-market - translating space systems, communications, and imaging capabilities into differentiated positioning, launch strategies, impactful revenue-driving narratives, and sales motions that accelerate market adoption, support pipeline growth, and strengthen IonQ's position in commercial, defense and intelligence, and allied government markets.
This role operates at the intersection of product, engineering, sales, marketing, and leadership. You will help connect product strategy to market strategy, ensuring launches and messaging reflect a clear, credible, technically accurate, and customer-relevant narrative. You will own positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategy, launches, and cross-functional alignment across the full Space Solutions portfolio ensuring IonQ's portfolio is differentiated, commercially relevant, and positioned to drive adoption across sensing, communications, and quantum-enabled mission capabilities.
You will serve as a strategic market partner to product and technical leadership, helping connect product development decisions to customer needs, competitive dynamics, buyer behavior, and market opportunity. This includes influencing launch priorities, roadmap communication, and product strategy through customer insight, competitive intelligence, and market feedback. The right person is independently driven, deeply collaborative, customer-voice driven, and comfortable operating with autonomy in highly technical, mission-driven, and evolving markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Support, define, and evolve the narrative, positioning, and messaging for Space Solutions across customer segments and buyer personas - translating technical space capabilities into customer-ready language that resonates with U.S. government, allied government, defense, intelligence, civil, and commercial space audiences.
  • Support the go-to-market strategy and launch execution across space solutions tailoring positioning, messaging, and customer engagement to distinct buyers, use cases, competitive environments, and procurement paths.
  • Partner closely with product management, mission design, engineering, sales, and technical leadership to influence launch prioritization and roadmap communication based on customer insight, competitive dynamics, mission relevance, and market opportunity.
  • Develop and maintain customer-facing and internal content, including messaging frameworks, solution narratives, thought leadership, web copy, sales enablement assets, technical briefs, one-pagers, case studies, campaign content, and launch materials.
  • Own and continuously evolve Space Solutions AI-enabled go-to-market systems, including domain-specific agents, knowledge repositories, competitive intelligence, product information, proof points, ICPs, and approved messaging to power scalable content creation, sales enablement, and market intelligence.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, sales, mission design, corporate marketing, communications, and enablement to ensure launches reinforce product authority, platform coherence, and market differentiation at every touchpoint.
  • Own competitive and market intelligence, tracking competitors, procurement trends, mission priorities, customer needs, market shifts, and emerging category dynamics while translating insights into actionable recommendations for GTM team members.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring customer needs, mission requirements, buying behavior, market feedback, and competitive realities consistently influence GTM strategy, positioning, launch planning, and product decisions.
  • Partner with sales enablement to support battle cards, objection handling, training materials, customer decks, demo narratives, technical talk tracks, and strategic deal support for complex government, defense, intelligence, allied, and commercial opportunities.
  • Support the development of scalable product marketing processes, frameworks, and operational infrastructure as the Quantum Platform organization grows.

Requirements:

  • 5-8+ years of experience in B2B or B2G product marketing, solutions marketing, technical marketing, strategy, or go-to-market roles within space, defense, aerospace, geospatial intelligence, satellite systems, Earth observation, national security, deep tech, or adjacent markets where buyers are sophisticated and sales cycles are complex.
  • Direct experience in the space industry is strongly preferred. You understand how space customers think, how missions are evaluated, how technical capabilities map to operational outcomes, and how government, defense, intelligence, allied, and commercial space buyers assess risk, value, and differentiation.
  • Proven ownership of GTM strategy and launch execution. You have built launch plans, aligned stakeholders, driven positioning, and taken technical products or solutions to market - not just supported execution.
  • Working knowledge of one or more relevant areas such as SAR, Earth observation, satellite systems, hosted payloads, mission solutions, space infrastructure, defense/intelligence missions, sovereign space capabilities, or geospatial data.
  • Exceptional writing and content development skills. You can translate highly technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives and create polished content across launches, thought leadership, web copy, customer-facing assets, sales enablement materials, and technical solution narratives for executive, mission, and technical audiences.
  • Confident communicator across internal and external audiences - including customers, partners, executives, product leaders, engineers, mission teams, and technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, marketing, mission design, and leadership organizations.
  • Strong commercial instincts and strategic thinking. You can synthesize complex technical input into commercially effective positioning and understand how messaging, positioning, launches, and market insights connect to business outcomes.
  • Experience working in nascent, emerging, or rapidly evolving markets where category definitions, buyer understanding, and competitive dynamics are still developing.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or operationalizing AI-enabled workflows, knowledge systems, agents, or automation frameworks. Ability to structure product, customer, mission, and market information in ways that improve output quality, consistency, and business value.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple strategic and executional work streams simultaneously.
