Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to join our innovative team at Recovery Room Therapy & Wellness Services. This full-time, remote role is essential to our mission of providing exceptional outpatient mental health services, focusing on individuals experiencing end-of-life issues and complex emotional challenges related to hospice care.

About the Organization

Recovery Room Therapy & Wellness Services is a leading outpatient mental health clinic located in Spokane, Washington, recognized for our commitment to accessible and personalized mental health care. Our multi-disciplinary team works diligently to support clients of various backgrounds in navigating their emotional and psychological needs, particularly within the hospice setting. We strive to create a compassionate environment that promotes healing, resilience, and holistic well-being.

Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of remote work, providing you the autonomy to manage your schedule while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Although primarily remote, our culture fosters consistent communication and collaboration among staff through virtual meetings and regular check-ins to ensure a strong team dynamic. Our remote setting allows for seamless integration into the patient care team at our affiliated hospice center, where you will work with other mental health professionals dedicated to improving the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify clients' mental health concerns, strengths, and needs, employing best practices tailored for hospice care.
  • Provide individual therapy and group sessions using evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and medical teams to formulate and implement comprehensive, individualized treatment plans that address unique challenges faced by hospice patients.
  • Facilitate therapeutic interventions that help clients and their families navigate the emotional complexities of end-of-life decisions and grief.
  • Utilize crisis intervention techniques—conducting risk assessments and safety planning to manage potential issues that may arise in vulnerable patients.
  • Deliver psychoeducation to clients and families, empowering them with coping strategies, grief support, and wellness enhancement techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation as per ethical and legal standards, ensuring all information is kept confidential and aligns with best practices in social work.
  • Contribute to the development and facilitation of support groups catered specifically to individuals dealing with loss, bereavement, and transition.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinical focus includes a diverse patient population, primarily individuals facing terminal diagnoses, their families, and significant others. We recognize the unique emotional and psychological needs present during this critical life phase, and we strive to address their concerns in a sensitive and supportive manner that honors their experiences. Our staff is trained to provide culturally competent care, ensuring that we respect the diverse backgrounds and personal beliefs of our clients.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current active state licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and assessment skills, with a strong aptitude for empathetic engagement.
  • Proven knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities relevant to hospice care.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health or outpatient setting, with a strong preference for experience in hospice or palliative care.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Background in crisis intervention and experience working with diverse populations in sensitive situations.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • High-quality medical, dental, and vision insurance plans to support your health and well-being.
  • Retirement plans with employer matching to help you secure your financial future.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, personal days, and holidays for a healthy work-life balance.
  • Continuing education and training programs to enhance your clinical skills and professional development.
  • A sign-on bonus to welcome you to our team and acknowledge your expertise.
